Biggest blunder is to not build the new US Fiat with US second tier labor.

Not so fast Bill, there are Americans that need jobs too. So compose yourself from LYAO and explain please. The longterm recovery from this downturn has to start somewhere. The reduced wages are nowhere near what Mexican wages are, but the goodwill effort to put Americans back to work might go a long way to redeem Chrysler in taxpayers minds. If you don't think people will work for that, ask around about where these new hires are from. You're going to find they are coming from everywhere in search for work. I don't like the two wage structure at all, but it was pushed through despite outcries. I would rather see these jobs go to Americans than Mexico and yes that is the lesser of two evils.

A friend told me the other day he would never buy a Chrysler or GM again because they took bail out money. Even though it was a loan. Sadly this is how Americans think.

2012 will be the year for Chrysler when all the new models come out.Nothing will happen in this country untill then. The rich hate the idea of a black dem in office that is going to put them in a tax bracket were they belong. Why have know body figuerd this out. Were do you think they put all the money they took during the bush years? Why is the stock market tank? It is because they put all there money in gold and they are sitting on it. If the gold market take a hit like the housing market you better hold on to your [email protected]@.

We have had wage cuts and freezes, benifit cuts and out of pocket increases, strickter work rules. Buddy we go down, so do you. Get ready.

Chrysler Group LLC CEO Sergio Marchionne said today it will be "difficult" for the automaker to turn a net profit this year.

The automaker has had two consecutive quarters of operating profit, but it carries high interest on its loans and the liquidity it needs to update 75 percent of its vehicles by the end of the year. Sergio was also overherd to say that if things do not improve soon that he might just shut it down.

Yes things are very tricky right now. A huge project at KTP is hinging on financing that the company is struggling to get. Seems they don't like the way the books look, which is bad news for us. I sure hope sergio doesn't let us go under chrysler could be great again, if the italians would stop screwing us!

First there is no high interest on loans. The government money is the loan. Second, during first and second quarter liquidity was on the rise. Third, any meeting that Sergio might have said "I'm going to shut down" would not have included anyone over hearing. Did the comment come while eating pizza? I doubt it. Besides Fiat only owns 20%. They do not make that final decision.

DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

Italy is the only market in which Fiat SpA (F.MI), the domestic carmaker, is losing money, Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne said Thursday.

Fiat, which is a global player with operations in Latin America and has an alliance with Chrysler LLC, has to keep pace with rivals around the world, Marchionne said to a meeting of a powerful Catholic youth group in Rimini.

Fiat is making money and Chrysler is "not doing well," Marchionne said in his speech, which was televised.

Fiat is currently being criticized for refusing to allow three workers it claims were engaged in sabotage to report to work this week, despite a court ruling requiring they be re-admitted to their jobs.

Sergio Marchionne, the all-knowing, all-seeing automotive guru shocked a few members in the media this past Monday when he informed the keyboard-stained wretches gathered for the Joe Biden Puff Tour of the Jeep plant in Toledo that it would be "difficult" for Chrysler to make a profit this year.

Whaaa?

Now wait a minute, didn't he say - like five minutes ago - that Chrysler was going to blow the socks off this business (in so many words), and that things were so damn rosy that it just couldn't get any better? Yes, it's the hard, cold, High-Octane Truth, folks, but what did happen between then and now, exactly?

Did sun spots intervene? Or did Sergio just run out of his personalized chromium-tipped shovels? But, not to worry as Sergio reminds us, because after all it's not his - or Chrysler's - fault but rather it's those damn loans from the U.S. Treasury, which translated directly into debt that is just killing them.

Killing them.

But it's all good, according to The Maestro of Machiavellian Musings - at least when it comes to Chrysler's future, and especially around career politicians like Biden - because they're super engaged and on-target. No product other than the new Grand Cherokee to speak of for the next six months, but it's all gonna be good, you'll see. Uh-huh. As Joe Pantoliano's "Guido the Pimp" character said so famously in "Risky Business" - "Time of your life, eh kid?"

You look to Sergio as your savior, but yet you feel like your marriage partner is screwing you?

If people would work as hard to make a marriage work as they do to break it up, the world would be a better place. This marriage applies to business too.

Relax, the project is "A GO".
