Dumbasses I am hearing that they don't want to let their workers go, we shall see, i also heard they all would be going to JNAP, but the latest from a Mack 1 area manager is that they are gonna try and just lay them off and bring them back in a few months? for what product, anyones guess, shortly we shall find out, as for Mack 1, we are hearing early 2013 is the end of the line

No shit, that's what I've been saying. No plant can just " hold on " to it's employees. When your are laid off, that's it, you go to another plant. It's that simple. What makes Mack workers any different? Get over yourselves.

Yeah right, it will be idled. Closed plant status would benefit the worker. Chrysler would not have that.

I don't think so, i think they will stop producing engines for a few months, then they will begin to start work to bring the plants back on line in another product which could take up to 1-2 years, so i think those that say idle, might be correct for a short time, but not long term, we shall see real soon

At least your not giving dates anymore, because I can't remember how many dates when you have said an announcement would happen. LOL

If these plants were closing permanentely, why has their been no announcement? Why were these plant closings not negotiated in last year's national contract talks? Why were these plants not put into Oldcarco during the bankruptcy process?

Workers from the Mack plants will take their time to the assembly plants. Ant 2 tiers will be displaced by seniority tier 1.

Knowing they are going back to Mack makes working hard for once much easier to handle. Being on the line is a very mentally grueling thing as well as physically grueling. A displaced worker who knows he will be back at his home plant some day doesn't have to fight the mental struggle each day as opposed to a worker who doesn't have that option
