<quoted text>go for it, the next contract, Sergio is getting rid of the seniority system anyways, everyone will be day 1, let the fittest survive.
You know and everyone else knows it, that he has much bigger things to adress in the next contract. Seniority will not be apart of the negotiations. It doesn't effect the bottom line. It's about money not weeding out the good workers or bad like you seem think. The contract and his focus is about saving money, not seniority.

It's minimal at best. Certainly compared to pension, insurance, wages, tax breaks, legacy costs and the like. Seniority won't be an issue for the next contract at all. Marchionne has so many other things to worry about.

Never go to a parts plant. The people there are very nosy, everyone will know your business. It's like a cult in those plants. Most are filled with family members who dont take kindly to outsiders. Huge mistake if you do this. Stay where you are and buy a condo. Never under any circumstance do you wanna give up your seniority.

Senority is all we have left, stick it out and then move when you retire. We have to fight on every contract that we have left. Sergio may want a lot of things but just like last contract he cant get everything.

Keep ur seniority. We have guys here that gave up their seniority and they are miserable. They are hoping bap will shut down so they get their seniority. Those are probably the only people who like retired! Poor miserable Old man must suck to live his life I bet he wishes like hell he could get just a couple more weekend checks. Must not have put anything in his 401k. He probably has to give his ex wife half of his pension and lives in a shitty old two bedroom house and his kids never call bc they really don't like talking to him and they think if they are nice he may just think they are starting to like him so he will start calling them. For 30 plus yrs all he did was go to work everyday then his wife left him poor broke and all alone so now he fills his days trying to spread a miserable message and the only enjoyment he gets is when some new guy stops by this sight and pays him a little attention. If I was him I'd think hard about actually doing what I know he's been thinking about. Just go in the bathroom take the rest of those pills bud. Nobody will even know ur gone for days or weeks until the neighbors smell ur wrotting corpse. Sad i feel bad for you but it's to late you can't change the person you are. You are to old! You are stuck in that miserable hell for the rest of ur life with no possibility of ever being happy and knowing true joy. I don't wish bad on you my guess is your life can't get much lonelier and that is the absolute worse thing I can imagine. They can take my pension my money and my job but I wouldn't want to live my life with no family and friends!

Ha ha that's it? Sounds like ur life? Must have came pretty close! Nothing you can do about it now. The only people that you actually associated with worked at your plant. Then they shut it down and you already had 35 yrs in couldn't convince yourself to transfer so now your bitter and you blame the company and the Uaw because you have absolutely zero in your pathetic washed up life. You might have a dog that you spoil and treat like a human and he can't wait to die bc you have no life! Here to the veba and no more bonuses! My guess is there will be an announcement soon about future investment. Just a guess! Haven't heard anything in awhile

<quoted text>sounds like your pathetic life = no seniority, defined pension,30 and out,etc in next contract.= P.S. BAP will be shut down by 2019 = to far ( 370 miles ) from Detroit engine and trans plants = to costly to transport all those semis trailers for a car/cars that make low profits.
Ok. So you are saying Sergio Marchionne, who is the CEO of 3 companies, will focus energy on getting rid of seniority? Sure he will. The financial situation in Europe and Chryslers return from bankruptcy and the poor economy here and the slew of new product launches that will be happening the next few years and he will try to change seniority? You do realize how unimportant that is in the grand scheme of things? It won't even be on the table.

That's even worse! Has to be a horrible life to have nothing after 43 yrs of work! No friends no life and I doubt very much money. I'm sure you would have worked another 10 yrs if chrysler wouldn't have shut ur plant! Work was all you had in life and those people took it away from you! We should all feel bad for you. But instead nobody on here really cares so you get on here and try to get a little attention by acting like an ass. Well here's ur day in the sun from me enjoy!

...since you asked...most on here will probably get 20-30 years more out of life than you...perhaps less in real dollar$...perhaps more...we won't be here to witness what unfolds then...and sure can't dictate from the grave...enjoy your short journey...

Just a lousy old man who feels he's been cheated. Sitting at home bored day in day out. It's sad when ur enjoyment is getting online to see how many people have responded to your . What about me? I passed 55 in July but it doesn't really matter to me! I'm happy. I'm still in my home plant my family still loves me my kids are still at home and active in their school and getting good grades. Great friends. Those are the things that matter to me! I would to say someday you will have those things but I think it's to late for you. That's a sadder life than I can imagine. U maybe the devil bc there's no doubt you are already in a self made hell. It brings me no joy to say this bc I could never imagine living the way you live although I would say somehow you deserve the cards you've been dealt.
