This has been asked on several other threads. Concentra holding unknown number of potiental hire applications. Not a lot of info coming out. Hope someone inside (or anywhere for that matter) will reply soon with some meaningfull info about possible upcoming need for more people in Kokomo. Plant closings, transfers, quits, releases, retires, etc. will have effect. Could take some time to sort out.

I know about 60 people who are from Indiana that are putting in for the Kokomo area. They are at Kenosha right now waiting for the plant shutdown in October. They will get transfer rights with seniority.

you will come with day 1. and all you people with applications in, don't expect to be hired. getting ready to shut down some departments and lower rate in others. all the people that just got hired will be laid off in a few months.

wrong, if a plant closes like Kenosha you come with full seniority. Plant closing == Full seniority

It is a plant closing, not transfer. I heard that they just got their packages. If they choose Indiana and are sent to Indiana, they keep their seniority; if they choose another state and are forced to Indiana it is day one.

Most are choosing Indiana because the work is like Kenosha with machining and assembly. And it doesn't matter what area they pick or end up at they get full seniority.

so why on earth did they test so many people at all that expense to just put a hold on everyone? and then not hire or layoff?

This is the automotive culture, up and down. Everything hinges on sales. What do you drive? Try to be patient, look at the big picture. There are new lines of product coming, not just to Kokomo. There will be others retiring in the next couple of years. If there is a push for lower wages below $20 hr., look for a mass exodus of workers with qualifications to other work fields. New contract in one year, going to be rough ride for all through this one.

Kenosha received their packages Wednesday. We have until Sept. 20 to turn in paperwork. Who ever decides to transfer - no matter where they go - will transfer with full seniority. The national is coming to Kenosha Sept. 13 to discuss options, seniority rules, etc. Most Kenosha workers have very high seniority - they must be placed first before any other people can be hired.
Not sure what happens if you choose a labor market and then refuse to go because you weren't placed where you wanted to be. Maybe the national can answer that.

If you choose a labor market and they offer another and you refuse that offer you lose seniority and benefits. But if you go to that market you go with full seniority even if that was not the labor market you picked.

You make a market(s) designation, if a job is available in that market you will go there. If no positions are available in the market(s) you designate, the company will offer you a job at a facility with a opening.
If you turn down a job offer at a market you designate, you will be terminated.
If you turn down the job offer from a different market, you lose all company provided pay and benefits. Retaining recall rights equivalent to your corporate seniority.
Failure to respond to any job offer results in termination.

I tested same time as you. Still on step 9 refer. When the need for additional hires arises who decides which applications are forwarded to Chrysler?(closed successfully) Chrysler? UAW? Concentra? Since Chrysler pays Concentra to administer the hiring prosess, most likely Chrysler turns their head while the UAW cherrypicks a combination of management and union family members to be selected. Extremely difficult to prove otherwise.
