if the big 3 is only closing plants in the U.S. and not the other countries then that means they are closing plants here so they can keep running their plants somewhere else. i can't blame the government for not wanting to help them and them not being able to tell them they will keep jobs here in america. i know 2 plants in stl is getting closed but plants in Mexico and Canada are thriving. if we allow the UAW to open this contract and get rid of the only thing we have to hang over the companies heads if they layoff or close plants here we will be sorry. not to mention the thousands of families who will not to be able to make it with jobs so hard to find. people say to get rid of the job band because they don't get that at their jobs, well i can tell you if the job bank is done away with not only will bankruptcy sore but so will government programs. and who pays for them the Tax payers so you can keep letting the companies take care of that or the tax payer can. what i can hear is that 25 million the big 3 wants from the gov. is a loan not a hand out so how is the tax payer paying for it if it has to be paid back with interest. no they are not paying for the loan but if the UAW gets rid of the job bank then the tax payer will be supporting everyone that loses that paycheck and the big 3 would love that. yes we get the job bank but we payout of our own pockets for that benefit and the taxes we pay you wouldn't believe how much they are and remember we are still paying those taxes on job bank but if it is took that money will be gone and just think how much that is to the gov. with thousands of workers laidoff. Congress had better think about this fact before making a judgement.

what more do you want to close in Canada?
Only 2 assembly plants left here. No engine or tranny plant here.
Not that long ago Windsor had 6 Chrysler plants.
We are down to one.

I know you guys have a very high uneployment rate in Windsor or so I hear that we understand it is just hard to understand closing an American in favor of one out of the country and then ask for tax payer money to save jobs. If they really want to save American jobs they are now going to have to prove it.

well Chrysler sales are up in Canada. US caused this problem, not Canada. Chrysler outsells Ford and Toyota in Canada. Canadians are loyal to Chrysler, Americans are not.
Just last Month Chrysler sold 90 000 vehicles in US and over 18 000 in Canada, But our population is 10 times smaller.
Another thing they are asking Canadian taxpayers for help too. They asked Canadian government for help. They asked for $7 bil. from US government, and $1 bil from Canadian government. Since we have last 2 Chrysler plants,$1 bil from our government should be enough to keep those 2 plants open , it's like $500 mil per plant.
Take $7 bil from US government and then divide
that among all Chrysler US plants. I am sure it is less

This is what our federal government has stated with regards to federal funding.

They need to shut down all of canadas plants and bring the work back to america. Same goes for mexico. that is how it should be if the government is going to loan all that money.

Supply parts to your local dealers from another country ? So US should send the parts to every dealer in the world over night. That's cost savings wow.

Fact is, it's cheaper to build here. The plant was just retooled, and we have a new state of the art paint shop..For every dollar spent there, it only costs 70 cents here now..Corporte tax is cheaper here...Our health care plan is in place right now, not 2 years away...We have no job bank..It would cost a big chunk of any bail out money to worry about moving...As far as the government goes, maybe nothing will be mentioned in it's budget, but they have already said last year they would provide money to the industry as needed...Of course they're going to wait and see what the US government is going to do first..

No... Fact is, SLPS has the same new paint shop that WAP has and SLPS has a better body shop than WAP's. Fact is, Chrysler tried to figure out why SLPS's paint jobs are far superior to WAP's all summer long. Fact is, we build the cars cheaper in the US and we're making sure everyone knows what Chrysler is up to.

Fact is, the only reason WAP is still running is that your boy Tommy Lasorda is protecting your plant full of cry babies that have a million weeks of vacation and still don't come to work.

Fact is, WAP pushes a lot of cars out of that plant but you build nothing but junk. you see jim, we know your dirty little secrets. We know that you guys think that the numbers on the PFS screen mean everything and you'll just shove junk out the door to keep your numbers up. This is more widely known than you think it is!

Keep being a bunch of cry babies that think you're better than everyone else. Fact is, WAP's days are numbered.

I mean, seriously jim, think about where all of Windsor's auto plants have gone. Why are the other plants in Windsor still humming along if it's so cheap to build there? Now, why do you think that WAP is still standing tall with 3 shifts? The answer is that your Canadian mafia boys inside Chrysler are protecting your plant.

It's called stocking parts so you don't have to overnight anything. Cost savings on shipping right there.

Wow, obviously "no no" isn't in the auto industry. All l'm saying is that if it's come right down to dollars and cents, they're better off to keep this plant where it is for now, and invest the money in the US operates side of it..They are expecting the Canadian government to come up with a chunk of change though..Guess we'll all see what happens..

l don't think most people realize that 70% of Chrysler employees are American...Canada is a very small percentage...
