went to call about dental coverage since it ran out on nov 30. guy tells me i can enroll in cobra at $136 a month. ok. thats fine. then he tells me that i'll have to pay for the month of nov! i ask him why since chrysler payed my dental until nov 30...why should i pay for coverage thats starts a month ago for something i cant use now? he tells me thats the way cobra works. just fuking stupid. on top of trying to figure out what the hell he says (goddamn foreigners) im arguing with this jerkoff about when our date of termination is! he says oct 31, my paperwork from chrysler says nov 30. what the hell?

When you call benefits express, tell them you want to talk to someone in the United States. They should give you a phone # or transfer you. Don't loose that number.......it's golden!!!

When we went through that we were only able to continue dental on cobra if we paid for medical cobra as well, I think I would check that out. Benefit Express tends to screw up anything and everything.

That's odd, I was at the dentist last week on monday. I found out that I had a cavity that I had to get fixed. I told them I was losing my insurance at the end of November, so I would have to get in before December 1st. I was in the waiting room when the receptionist came out and told me that she called Delta Dental and that my insurance wouldn't run out until Dec. 31st. What to do??

Cakes are you from SLPS? I dont know about 12/31, but if you are from SLPS, remember we got paid that first week of November due to the holiday, so that might have something to do with it. I made sure to take care of all dental before the nov. 30th deadline.

Benefits Express must go! I have had nothing but problems from benefits express, since I took the buyout in November 2008. They have failed to recognize that fact the they withdrew the $60 medical from last paycheck. They are trying to charge us for the month of December. I have made it clear to them that I have the pay check stub showing the $60 deduction. Apparently,Chrysler has outsourced to India, because every time I call them to check on the progress, it is like I have called for the first time, In fact, they have to reset my password every time I call, because they never enter it correctly. Now they have stopped are insurance, because of the discrepancy of the $60. This has been going on for 3 months! I have escalated this to a supervisor, but he is as clueless as the rest. Does anyone have any ideas on how to escalate this so that it can get resolved. I want to bring some heat down on these guys!

I had the Same problem, when you call tell them to transfer you to someone in Chicagos Main Office. The supervisor that helped me his name is Matt, his the only Matt there he should be able to help ya. Make a complaint also about your call to India. I never talk to anyone there. Hope everything work out for you!!

Your advice worked! I asked to speak to someone from the United States, and they connected me to the office in Illinois. They were very helpful. In one day, they reinstated our insurance, and sent the check for $60. I would suggest to everyone to not communicate through the India office. America only! We all need to write letters and let benefits express know about the dissatisfaction with their choice for outsourcing.

Has anyone had problems reporting a death to Benefits Express? My father died on March 31, we called to report his death. We called a second time because we had not received a package in the mail and a third time. Now they are telling us that they cannot get into his file and as a result we cannot claim any of the life insurance or surviving spouse pension. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sarah, first very sorry for you and your family. If you have your father id number call your union benefit rep and tell them, they will handle everything for you or direct you to who can. What plant did your father work at? How ridiculous can this get!

Like phaze said, you should be getting help from your dad's union benefit rep.
In Canada our life insurance is through Manulife Financial 1-800-265-5862
If your mother is listed as his beneficiary she has rights to get access to that info.

Called benefit express with the number I recieved in the mail to elect Cobra coverage. They keep sending me to the wrong department. Can't even get through to the Cobra people they keep sending me to long term health. NEed help

Subject: Pension problems


On June 1st, the first thing they did was to tax my small pension of $366.45 twenty percent. They apparently decided I was not a US citizen because my address is in Thailand. I worked at Chrysler in Van Wert, Ohio for twenty two years. I AM a US citizen and taxes were paid under my Social Security number for all those years. I was initially told to submit a form that the IRS specifically says NOT to use if I am a US citizen. They then changed the form to a W-9 which is an application for a TIN. I HAVE a Social Security number.

I did submit the W-9 because I thought that would satisfy them. Here is my last email from them;

Your form was just received on 8/10/2011. It will be process for the 10/1/2011 payment.

I have been collecting $366.45 per month since I was aged sixty. I am now sixty six years old. Now I will have to put up with the inconvenience of trying to get my money back. I have no income except this small pension and Social Security. The last four digits of my Social Security number are 2209. Birth date March 5 1945.


Since they are that incompetent, how do I know that the amount is correct? The amount of $366.45 per month seems like a very small pension for twenty two years of service especially since Chrysler sold the factory.

Benefits express has cancelled my insurance. My husband has jumped thru all of their hoops, sent in everything they asked for(twice) as they say they lost it the first time.They will not say when they cancelled my insurance(he is still insured), we have gone thru their appeal process and it has been denied(they will NOT say WHY it was denied), they told him he has to file a 2nd appeal. He has talked to Matt, and probably every employee they have in Ill and no help from any of the bastards. He has asked to talk a supervisor and they tell him that the supervisors will not talk to anyone. Does anyone have any advice on how to get my insurance turned back on? I was scheduled for surgery this month and now I cant have that. This crap has been going on for over 2 months and my husband calls them every day and they refuse to tell him anything. Today he asked them about refunding him his money if he has to pay for my medication out of pocket, where does he send the reciepts to? again they told him,, we can't give you that information. WTH is going on with this crap? they sent no letter stating I had no insurance, I found out when I went to get my pills refilled, I cant afford my medication so for the last 2 months have been without.

My husband is trying to retire and it has been a fiasco. Benefit Express is the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with. He has followed all the rules and his check will be delayed, we have no info on insurance options. It is a mess. Chrysler needs to contract with someone else.

he better not retire = pension fund is over $6 billion underfunded = no pension for him = hahahahaha
