I for one wouldn't want any of the elected positions. They are thankless jobs. Our current leadership is doing the job that they were elected to do. Our president is not a moron you just dont know what his duties are. He is the adminstator of the local.It's not about whether or not he is your buddy or whether or not you like his personality. I will vote the current leadership back in unless someone can convience me that they can do better job. Like myself many people like to spend their time away from work with their families. The want-a-be's will be coming out of the wood work now that the elections are closer. They only want their name on a committee list (but dont want to do the work) or they merely want a title in front of their name and guess what- they will be far worse than what you have.
And as it has been relayed to us many times the union does not tell you who to vote for. They are giving you a list of the candidates that are labor friendly they are doing the foot work for you.
