toledo hiring process

I'm currently a Chrysler employee at jnap but my husband recently applied for the operator position in Toledo. He's already phased the phone screen, verified his education, and passed the drug screen. Now he is waiting for an email about scheduling for an assessment. I never had to take an assessment before hiring in so i don't even know what this is. Is anyone else at this point in the hiring process or further? Also what is this assessment? And why don't they go to orientation like everyone else?

If you go to the "Toledo Hiring" thread, there is some discussion on the process. I am also waiting for assessment, the talk is that the assessments may start the end of this month and hiring would be Dec-Jan. I spoke with HR in Toledo, and they amitted that the Toledo process takes longer. I dont understand why there is more than one way to process people in different locations but it sounds like every location has it own HR.

When was your husbands phone screen?

The financial situation in Europe and Chryslers return from bankruptcy and the poor economy here and the slew of new product launches that will be happening the next few years and he will try to change seniority? You do realize how unimportant that is in the grand scheme of things? It won't even be on the table.

Speak for some im not whining im ready to start up i know how to appreciate a good job obvisouly you have issues with chrysler or new hirees say no more im done entertain yourself! thanks for taking buyout making way for us lol

As far as I know, no one has been notified to schedule the assessment. I do know you will have an option to pick one of several dates and times. I have been told it can last up to 4 hours. 2 on a simulated line (like Jeeper83 described) and up to 2 in written. Whether thats still the game plan, I don't know.. My husband has 85 seniority and had to do a simulation to hire in as well, so to us this is normal. I believe Jeeper83 is at the Wrangler plant and would know more up to the minute info about this. My husband is at TNAP and on his involuntary (but thankful to have) vacation right now... I know several that have been waiting for assessment email since beginning of September... Its the hurry up and wait phase now... LOL.. Good luck to your husband.

..and don't mind Retired. Getting people fired up is his hobby...

When did you apply? How long did it take them to contact you after your phone interview for the drug test? I did my phone interview in 10/30 I received an email shortly afterward about still being considered.

I applied Aug 14th, and I did my drug screen about 1 or weeks after that.

Phone interview oct 2
Email saying they need to verify education nov 6
Faxed copy of high school diploma nov 7
Phone call to check email for drug test nov 8
Finally some process!
