They spent ten years and over 750 million dollars to make the most modern pressroom in north america,... we have three schuler "A" presses and the most modern automation to go with it... Then they let it all go for 45.5 million. Who are the idiots now? they will never be in a position to build or buy what they just let go for pennys on the dollar... All at the taxpayer expense...Word on the floor is most of the presses are going to china starting Aug 1, 2010.

Its not just who killed Twinsburg, there are plenty of plants that have closed. The ones to blame are the ones in the banking industry who caused the home loan disaster. Wherefore the housing industry goes, then goes the auto industry. They go hand in hand. anyone can b**** all they want about the UAW but I am very grateful for the opportunity to work for such a wellknown company. What better job to have than one that makes autos which in turn brings us FREEDOM to ride?

Where have you been the last 3 mos or so during this Toyota mess? Retracing your steps trying to figure out where things went wrong? Boy what a disaster and embarassment...

You reiterate my point. Toyota outsold us in those last 3 months even with the huge recall, that has virtually disappeared from headlines. We have enough of our problems to fix. Let's fix our own problems instead of trying to make the other guy down to our level, let us exceed his on our own merit.

Ya know for a CTC guy you preach nothin but doom and gloom, don't get me wrong I know we are treading water here but what can we do other than do our jobs well. I already do that and come on this 'Chrysler Forum' to see this former Chrysler worker who his Dad and other folks he knows including himself recieve benefits from and he trash talks, he works(ed) for Toyota and has been gone for the past 3 mos, probably retracing his steps to find out where he F'd up. Why people buy those death traps is beyond me because its not the quality. So no I am not just gonna keep my mouth shut and let guys like him trash talk. We have been waiting for his return, now I am sure his 'partners' Corn Back Rattler and a few others will magically reappeare to continue on since the heat is turning back off. He's probably been on the Toyota Forums lying, pleading his ass off.

Twinsburg Stamping was a victim of its own high cost investments. Chrysler poured millions into the plant and then proceeded to lose massive market share.

There is overcapacity in the North American automotive manufacturing sector, and we won't return to the near 17 million SAAR for quite some time.

Comfortably retired from a supplier whose customers are BMW, Nissan, Toyota, Mercedes. My employer decided what I was worth, and it was very nice indeed.

Sounds like a BorgWarner retiree from Seneca? Good for you, the stock splits alone made it a fun ride.

I banked a $700K one-shot payment from Plastech, and purchased my lot in The Cliffs at Walnut Cove. I know Jim Anthony has some nice developments down your way as well.

You should have gotten in on the hostage money. The VSA LLC payout wasn't half bad either. Chrysler may leave a lot of insolvent suppliers in their wake, but if you play it right, you too can make a quick buck.

Lake Keowee, all of the Cliffs properties. Just a bit out of my price range. Some of the 5 acre lots at The Cliffs are 500K.
