I had a question for someone from Kokomo about transferring between plants.
Most of us are going to KTP some are going to the other 2 plants. A lot of us would ride back to St Louis together when we can, so can we transfer to the other plants so we will all be on the same work schedule? Is it hard to do? Does there have to be an opening or do you just go by seniority and move the low guy out if you want to move?
Also I hear KTP1 is a newer nicer plant and that they don't work any overtime so would that be the best place to go if you wanted to go home every weekend?
Thank you in advance

It is ITP 1 one Indiana Transmission and Kokomo Transmission... There has to be an opening...I do believe both plants have the same hours though... Not sure about the overtime i imagine ITP is not working any cause they have a huge bank...

No one is asking for anything special, I'm asking how you move once you get there, like if you are in KTP now can you move to ITP1 later if you want to.

Rich once you get here. You can either fill out a 66c on the kiosk or through dashboard on your personal computer. The only way to transfer is if there is an opening.

only if there is an addition of manpower to that plant may you move...go to the kiosk and put in your 66c requests...you can not bump anyone out of a different dept or plant just because you have more senirity...read your 66c language and your new local contract language on interplant movement.

Good luck to you. I don't know much about transfering between plants other than it isn't so easy...but the plants are as follows:

KTP: Kokomo Transmission Plant. Older plant with the most workers. Dirty.(my hubby is there - until next week) Southern part of Kokomo.

Casting: Right beside KTP

ITP1: Indiana Transmission Plant 1. Newer plant on far north end of town.

ITP2: Indiana Transmission Plant 2. Right next to ITP1.

When you are considering these plants always remember...they call Kokomo "Stoplight City" for a reason - it takes forever to get through Kokomo on US 31.

Well i just wanted to be where the people i am going to ride back and forth to st louis with are.
I knew the three were the same local as far as getting laid off, but wasn't sure about transfers. Someone had told me you could bump back and forth just like chaging shifts but someone else had said it's not that easy. Sounds like if we end up in different plants there isn't much chance of getting moved into one of the others.

Thanks for the info.

They wernt coming at first, the international flip floped on the descision. This was talked about at our last union meeting.

PS if any of you want to know what the dpt you are going to at ktp does, just ask.

International didnt flip flop $hit, they made your local follow the contract. Believe what you want, but, Contrary to what your officials have been telling you, this is the way it has been all along. They just thought they could screw them like they did indy foundry and new castle, but they didnt take into account that there ISNT ANYWHERE LEFT TO GO

Bap thought they were going to run this there way but this is on the international contract not local.Bap will have full time 2nd shift or they will close it.Parts is 90% of the problem now.Every plant that was put on one shift for any amount of time has closed so far.
