Also use brake cleaner to clean the pan and sealing surfaces on the tranny. Be sure to change the filter while your in there. A clogged filter can cause all kinds of problems. Go to Napa and get a Victor gasket set and not one of those cheap ones at the "zone" or Advance or o'reileys. Always use a gasket. I can't believe they would tell you not to. Some of those guys crack me up. If you do the above and it still don't seal, let me know and maybe you can bring it down here to my shop and I'll fix you up for cheap. Oh and if you got a magnet around the house, Silicone it inside the pan as far away from the filter as possible. It will collect any of the metallic garbage that floats around inside an automatic transmission of any kind.(old racers trick)
You can retro fit the magnet buy sticking it on the outside of the pan it should still collect the loose metal bits.

My 2004 chrysler Sebring is showing a sensor code of P0700 and the transmission is not wanting to shift at all. How difficult is that to fix and what must be done?

I have 1999 chyrsler . We have replaced the radiator, battery, battery cables, starter, oil pump, timing belt, tentioner, oil pan seals, crank and cam shaft seals, head gasket. After all those the Transmission goes out, we replaced it with a used one along with the soleniod. Now the car shift 1 st and 2 nd by time it gets to 3rd the rpm's pushing 4000 and I am only going 40 mph. If you swith my ignition on and of qickly the car shift gears. Once you come to a stop u have to flip the ignition again. We have put in tripple the money that the car is worth. I just want my car to go again. Before the tranny went out every blue 48moon I would have to stop and reset the tranny by putting the car in park shut it off count to 10 and we where on our way. But after getting the new to me tranny replacement and new sensor. I am lost. The machnic is say that it is an electric problem because it changes when you flip the ignition. The car thought was a gem when we got it is worth $6000 to me and $0 to anyone else. Can anyone offer any solutions maybe from your chrysler ordeal. Signed IN TO Deep. You can e mail me at [email protected] I also read that there are 2 sensors down by tranny. I did soleniod what is the name of the other(s).

I just bought a 2008 sebring 4 days ago the check engine light came on. So I took it to a family friend who has a computer he can plug in. It read the code PO700 which is a transmission code it means the transmission is probably about to go out. Has anyone heard of something minor causing this to happen because the dealership mechanic keeps trying to convince me its probably not serious but it just doesn't sound right to me.

i have a 1998 sebring lxi coupe?it smokes whitesh steam when i sit at stop lights and drive off.a big cloud of smoke will apearno anti-freeze is missing and the oil is fine looking my transmission fluid is a brownish yellow could i have a bad transmission modulater?if it has one?i heard i could bring tranny fluid throw the vaccum hose to the combustion chamber
causing tranny fluid to burn and cause white steam/smoke?couls this be possible in this yar and model ?also were do i find the part on my car to replace ?and again
head gasket is blown or cracked head..pretty time consuming and will probably cost around 1000

My check engine light is on, and my car is losing power when driving, sputters and gains it when I stop it almost stalls but catchs itself before it can.Would this be my fuel filter or trans. Its a 95 sebring lx coupe
is it doing it when you are coming to a stop? if you can give it gas and it prevents it from sputtering it may be a bad egr valve. That's what it was on my 1996 searing.
