Chrysler is selling more cars. But, sales for the Belvidere-made Dodge Dart appear to be off target.
The automaker launched a major advertising campaign last month hoping to boost sales. Chrysler sold 5,455 Darts in October, only 200 more than September.
The Belvidere plant added a third shift to keep up with the expected demand. Economic analysts say there could be concern for layoffs if sales begin to decline.

It would be nice if they could get their head out of their asses and release the 2.4 liter motor so u don't have to pick between premium gas fill up and a lousy power train.

Lol they wont cut the shift. They didnt add the shift because of dart production dummy. They added the shift to get 1500 more people only making 14 bucks an hour. Proof???? Look at the numbers of daily build now and daily build before the third shift came in. Went from 600 a shift 1200 a day to basically the same now. This is undisputable! It is fact.

Big layoff coming, told you that BAP mobile won't sell, what a pieceofshit,= hahahahahaha = BAP will close by 2019
Ok. So you are saying Sergio Marchionne, who is the CEO of 3 companies, will focus energy on getting rid of seniority? Sure he will. The financial situation in Europe and Chryslers return from bankruptcy and the poor economy here and the slew of new product launches that will be happening the next few years and he will try to change seniority? You do realize how unimportant that is in the grand scheme of things? It won't even be on the table.

<quoted text>no plant keeps 3 shifts forever, it's done to get all the sales you can when the product is hot and new, when sales slow, well, we know what that means, layoffs, if lucky, like I told you 2nd tier before, you better demand corporate seniority, because you the guys that are gonna be going from plant to plant with day one seniority now, you will lose all your time, don't think it will happen to you? It happened to top tier with 15-20-25 years, what makes you guys think it won't happen to you, not now, but in a year or two, I can see bap cutting a shift, same with warren truck and JNAP, also Shap I hear will add a third crew once they open their new paint and body, I'm told it will add the third crew for 1 1/2 years, that's it, a lot of people gonna be bounced around, all starting over with day one seniority
It's not really 3 shifts. The a b c crews were ment to help save more money as well for Chrysler. Like Saturday work with out time and a half. Which I think is good the company need to save some money to keep everything going.
