Nobody said anything about the retirees having to make a choice? Gonzales sent out a warn notice that it was laying off 166 workers starting December 31st due to their contract expiring. What are you hearing about the contract?

No one is being layed off, magna had to send out the same warn letter when they changed payrolls that's all it is. Nothing is being said about the contract except it is being negotiated. They are very tight lipped in the paint shop. And no has heard anything even close to that about the retires....

Hearing between December 31 and January 13th, approximately 175 employees, including those with Local 12 will begin receiving notification regarding layoffs.

Anyone at TNAP will have more seniority then anyone at wrangler paint. If they keep any of the wrangler employees,They will have to come in with day one seniority after all the jobs are bid

I will tell you this. Our Chairman made it very clear at the last meeting that he thinks the retires should keep their jobs. He never came out and said it but he kept refering that they gave up their jobs so low senority brothers and sisters could continue to work production and not get laid off. I don't believe these people gave up their jobs so others could work because they care so much about others. They gave up their jobs so they could get 2 paychecks every week!!! If they were not getting this they would have never retired!! And they would not have blinked twice about all the brothers and sisters in the union getting laid off! We were all told that if you took the buy-out you would never work for us again. Now they are tring to find a loop hole so they can continue to work. What about the ones that took the cash and went to other shops? He said they can never come back. Period!! Why? Once again this commitee is taking care of their buddies. They don't care about the lower senority brothers and sisters..The only ones who should keep their jobs at paint are the ones who have never worked for chrysler. Open up paint for bid rights and let senority fall into place. People have been waiting a long time for this. This is another reason why Jeep needs it's own local. We have local 12 representing all these "suppliers" and as Chrysler takes over they have conflict with what to do. What happens when we get Mobis back? Or KUKA? It is going to happen when these contracts with Chrysler expire. How can Mr. Waingrow represent us as our international rep. and still represent the paint shop as their local rep? Who is he fighting for? All his old buddies are at paint as double-dippers. This is a bad thing for everyone. Once we get TNAP thru all the changes next year there will be jobs for everyone. IT is going to be crazy for the next six months. THis current commitees re-election hopes will rest on who they can make the happiest. Current workers or double-dippers or new hires? Only time will tell. Once again everything will be done in secert and behind closed doors. Merry Christmas!! Enjoy our 3 days off!!See you there on the 27th!!

The way I see it, is if the double dippers think that they have the right to stay I think that they should PAY BACK THE PENSION FUND for the money that they stole from it.

This is not true. All wrangler paint employees will keep their seniority unless they decide to transfer then they will have day one seniority, if a tnap employee decides to transfer to paint they will have day one seniority. The workers that are there from tnap right now have no rights over anyone there that has seniority already.

The jobs at wrangler paint need to come back to the workers at Jeep. Jeep workers gave them jobs up to keep the wrangler in Toledo. Now that Chrysler owns and operates the paint shop the retirees should not be able to continue to double dip! Jim Waingrow should not be able to represent all of us. He is trying to take care of all his buddies and family that work at the paint shop instead of doing what is right.

I think your wrong, If anyone is allowed to stay they will become new chrysler employees with day 1 and will also drop to tier two pay which is only fair to all the other tier two employees. They all new this was going to happen sooner or later when they were hired.

Jeep Union and Paint Shop Union need to let people know whats going on instead of the usual hush hush. Im sure this has all been figured out by now and theyre not saying a word to anyone. Everybody is just guessing. As you know anything can happen with this company. What makes sense to us doesnt always happen. I heard from jeeper today that the retirees from Jeep had 3 months to think about what they were going to do. Freeze their pension or leave. I think the ones who retire, those jobs will be the only jobs up for bid after the 3 months. Just my opinion, not saying its right.

This has been said before but is worth repeating, all those that took the buyout/retirement packages signed away there rights to work at ANY Chrysler facility! They should NOT be able to work in the paint nor ANY shop, irregardless of tier, 1 or 2. They should be gone, not given a choice.
As someone said before, "they knew this when they signed the papers!"
