I've heard that we will be running full production in the pressroom on 3rd by the end of the year. I assume that means more hiring. Anybody know roughly what percent of SSP is T2? It seems like the majority are T2s these days.

Should be a little over 30 percent. Probably have about 1650 people. That's why we were able to add a steward to 3rd shift. Could also mean 3-2-120 is coming.

I haven't heard any of the leadership say 3-2-120 is NOT coming, so I suspect it is & there's nothing they can (or will) do about it. You know our local, always sides with International no matter what.

Off the street? Or are there die makers still working the line at other plants?

On Chrysler careers for SSP, it is true they are hiring Pipefitters and diemakers off the street.

Why can't we explore upgrades like the local contract says from 2004. I'd like to get a shot at going skilled trades. And you know we won't get a new local contract so this one will still be in affect. If the powers to be want to use it.

We've got more than a few connected folks working here, if any of them want to go to the trades, we might all get a shot. Seems like corporate would like us to upgrade so they can hire more T2's. We'll see...

3-2-120 seems to bed a bit of a stretch ... only because some lines need to run 24/7. If 6 days a week there r 2 shifts that run ten hours that would be 24 hours they would have to pay out in overtime through the week and 8 hours on sunday as well. Im not sure if sundays are double on 3-2-120. But i do know one of the proposes of it is to eliminate OT

Anybody know what happened to the BBQ grills outside? They just disappeared one day & nobody wants to talk about it. I thought they were negotiated in our local contract.

Ray took credit of course for getting them, but now that they're gone, I guess that doesn't have anything to do with him.
