Ok I applied 8/14 for toledo plant. I got an email for phone interview on 8/24. Did interview 8/25. Yesterday 10/5 I got a call telling me that I would get an email in 24 hours with instructions on how to complete drug screen. I applied for Detroit on 8/8 but haven't heard anything regarding that application except still in consideration. Does anyone know how long after I complete drug screen I can expect to start working? Is there another interview required?? In person?

Toledo has a longer process than Detroit but also they are not hiring much until the begining of next year when the new line starts up. With Toledo you will still have an assesment and physical to take seperate. Detroit does physical and drug screen in one shot and no assesment. Read through this thread there is alot of answers to your questions. Also, i am usually a glass half full person but dont count on anything until you get an orientation invitation. Until then it could be months, saw someone that even applied a couple years ago. Good luck though.

Thank you! I also applied for Detroit before applying for toledo but I haven't heard anything about that application. So do you think they would disregard the earlier app since I've started the process for Toledo? I live in Detroit but want and need a job badly enough that I'd gladly drive to Toledo every day. Also what is the assessment? A test or an interview?

I applied for both also. I got a conditional job offer from Detroit, still waiting for a orientation. I did my drug screen for Toledo last week. No your still in it for both, just give it time. Detroit basically wont take you to the next step without a conditional job offer. Toledo kind of does the steps first before they offer you anything. The assesment I am not sure about, after you take the drug screen, a few days later they will send an email saying to watch your email for further assesment. Not sure if its written, hand/eye coordination or a combo of both.

Thank you for responding! This process will make you pull your hair. This site is so helpful so one is not completely in the dark. They called yesterday at 4 pm to say I would receive an email in 24 hours regarding the drug test. It's quarter to 4 and no email yet. But I'm sure it's coming :-) thanks again

August 8th applicant here. Had my drug test and physical on September 18th, and am currently waiting on my orientation email. It's great to see you all encouraging one another. It's definitely not a process for someone who needs money immediately, but hopefully the end will justify the means, and we all find some satisfaction in working in the position. Congrats to all those experiencing forward progress, Good luck and be patient to those waiting, and ALL of you keep posting updates!

When I applied the site just said that the application was for "Metro Detroit." No specific plant. I was told by a friend that Chrysler was hiring, and I just went to apply. It was one of those things where they accepted applications for that day, then you couldn't apply for that position the days following. So I won't know exactly where until orientation, I guess.

Hello everybody! I had orientation oct 1 and 2 nd at the world class academy then I had orientation at the plant (wtap) on weds there we were told what shift, I got second. And I worked thurs and fri night. I was lucky to get a full 40 hrs in this week others at orientation that were going to other plants did not. Some were told to go to their plant on fri. When I started working Thursday night I learned that some full time ppl got flipped back to Part time and were transferring to jnap to get their full time back. They seem to be having a lot of issues with attendance and have new line gong in at a couple plants so they are moving a lot of ppl around as well as hiring a lot of ppl so make sure you have good attendance if you want to stick around. I guess I made a good impression everyone kept telling me what a fast learner I am and great job I did! Good luck everyone !!

how long after the interview did they contact you for a drug test for toledo? I had my interview October 2 2012,thanks

For Toledo it was sept 26th and for Detroit I did the drug test and physical oct 1st.
So about a month and a half for both it took to get the email for the testing.

Conditional Job Offer- Sep. 10
They needed Additional Info- Sep. 11
Sterling Info Systems Emailed Me Drug Test & Physical Info-Sep 11
Drug Test & Physical -Sep 17
candidate care changed my application status to congrats on your new position- Sept. 19
Orientation email- Oct.4
Orientation date- Oct. 10
