In regards to strike pay, you only get paid if the strike lasts over a week, in which you then need to be checked in for strike/picket duty. As for the vote, if you have the majority voting for a strike, then when the contract is up, the barg. committee can call for the strike if no extension can be reached

Doesn't the international have to authorize a strike also? In which case they may not authorize it to avoid shutting down an assembly plant.

How do they know who votes? Usually this is a high percentage of voters. So they are going to fire the majority of workers- that will piss Chrysler off if they can't run because a Unit fired its workers. I say this is some idiot management posting something this stupid. I've never even heard of a strike vote being voted down. All you are doing is giving authority to call a strike - that doesn't mean there will be one.

Friday 11th 2011, Cast your vote, also rumor has it Syncreon wants to go from a 9 attendance point system to a 6 point system.

In my opinion I think if they are asking to take away 3 we ask to add 3 three for a total of 12 since Syncreon doesn't offer sick pay / paid personal days.

The contract is written up so we can review at tonights meeting.6 points but it also will take 90 days to get a point back instead of 60 that is real b.s. also the truck drivers are the only ones getting a raise!!! I am told they will be at 20.00 an hour over the next 3 years of this new contract. Also they are pushing for a 2 tier wage system like Chrysler so new hires would start at 9.50 this would eliminate cost!!

Everyone needs to focus on what needs focusing on... The Contract is incomplete! That is what we are preparing for with a strike vote to let Syncreon know that we aren't ready to go AnOtHeR year without a raise. If they need to raise our fee for insurance, and you can't afford it now, how hard is it gonna get after they do? Haven't you all forgotten that there are procedures and policy that have to be upheld on our end as employees? The "Oh, they screwed me over on ____," or "How are tey getting away with _____?" is getting very old. If you don't know, ask! Log on, or go to the union meetings, or better yet... READ THE UNION CONTRACT & CONSTITUTION!!! It's up to you if you want to be educated on union dealings, and it's up to you to raise you concerns TO THE RIGHT PEOPLE! Should you have a HR issue... go to HR, If you have an equipment issue... fill out your corresponding TPM, if you have an actual Union issue, have your team lead contact your supervisor to inform your Rep - and get ready to wait up to 2 hrs for the Rep... the allotted time-frame for a response. Should it be an ongoing issue, document it... written statements are regarded as much more 'concrete' than a verbal account. Seems simple, but only if you make it such.

Does syncreon have coordinated bargaining? Which of the syncreon facilities/locals are currently negotiating their contracts?

local 1268 unit 5, right now they are going week to week extending old contract, none of the members know whats going on besides the bargaining committee and they are tight lipped, they promised something for us to review
Friday 2/25/11 but that could have been a terrible rumor.
Our last Unit 5 Meeting about the contract we where all fed Double Talk from Brandon and Gedney.
What is known however is that Syncreon has not completed the bidding process with Chrysler and do not know how much they will be getting paid thus setting our contract with them in limbo we have been told through the grapevine they are asking for concessions and increase in insurance costs so nothing good can come of this.
Syncreon's contract with Chysler was up Last November and Needs to come to an agreement by this coming November. I do not know anything about other locations and their contracts.
IMHO We should hold our contract and align it with the last days of bidding in November so we know what we are working with without signing blindly, And if there is any pay increases offered they will owe us back pay from 3/1/11 to 11/XX/11
