I heard today second shift comes back temporary in November for 5 weeks, then in January it will become permanent. What senority from St. Louis will be comming to Belvidere? I read they're down to 1989 for Kokomo, just wondering how many high senority workers are left waiting to transfer next.
All I ever hear is from here on TOPIX/The news paper(s)/Local TV/ I would just like to hear it from the people who count. The 1268 leadership or the HR Dept. at the plant. Till then it's just hear say. I want it in concrete when we come back you cannot find work when you don't know when & or if you are going back to work. You cannot even plan for any schooling without any info.

Have you not learned that the local leadership doesn't always tell the truth? Just look at what the pres did in Kokomo.

There isn't any high senority left out there. The people that did not make it to kokomo, are going to parts plants. Heard from a very good source in st. louis

I have never worked for Chrysler before. I also have never worked in any type of warehouse or factory. I have a degree and have always worked in corporate fortune 500 companies. I filled out an application for Chrysler Belvidere Plant on Sept 4, I was interviewed on Sept 23, and went and took my physical on Oct 1, 2009. I was told was temporary for 119 days Mon-Fri 40 hrs week with a possibility of being hired on to work for Chrysler at the closing. I am very excited about this opportunity. I would love to work for Chrysler. Consequently, the pay rate is not a flat 14.00 an hr. that is where it starts! Chrysler wanted to begin Oct 5, but due 2 not having all anticipated supplies it has been pushed to November.

Well now your going find out what it's like to work.I was there full time tens years hardest job I ever had.Now I make 20 an hour and sit on my butt most of the day and it's better than killing myself for 30 an hour good luck.Oh and by the way don't count on getting hired full time. They have had some temps for up to 6 years and never hired them.

Not a comment about that but, the papers we got to sign up for Belv state they should know by Jan 10 if they 2nd shift will be permanent and if so his temp could become permanent. We're hoping so or at least be transfer to a perm location when the temp ends (3 weeks to 5 months is what it stated). Time will tell. Even so, in the meantime they could still tap him for a perm location elsewhere. How far/close do you live from the plant?
