Third tier supplier KCP is the armpit of the corp and when the end comes it will be no loss.

Wow ... It is pretty bad when people have to attack others and not simply act like a union member and look out for others. It was a simple question too see if anyone has heard anything. There is always lots of layoffs and changes going on with the Transmission plants unfortunately and I was asking about the casting plant. Just trying to stay informed. It is people like OSS that make me care less if they lose their jobs.

It's no secret what the future holds for KCP- you guys will be sold off to another company to operate. Chrysler salary gets the axe and hourly gets to keep their job with the new owners-IF, they accept lower wages and benefits. It has already happened in Newcastle, Syracuse gear, Huntsville, etc.

If memory serve me correctly, didn't one of the UAW 1166 officials get caught heisting transmissions across the fence a few years ago? The company relented and agreed that this was past practice and the perp was reinstated with back pay.

You mean like mexico? Wait they have a plant in mexico too. Contract reads no outsourced work. So getrag builds a plant, chrysler has to use employees per contract. Of the two plants which do you think they will run at full capacity? Wander what happens at the end of this contract? Hopefully good things. As always, hope for the best, plan for the worst.

So what? Drinking is winked at in Kokomo Casting. Personnel especially protects the managers and foreman.
Remember Joe Per the KCP quality manager who went to Italy, got drunk on Groppa, wrecked an establishment and his traveling companions covered it up?
His traveling companions were Mike Love, Tom Beals and Steve Scagnoli the vendor that paid to cover it up.
Mr Per has clout high in the company HR group thanks to his mother and he did everything he could to get even with anyone he even suspected of leaking the story and was promoted to plant manager at Kenosha Engine and now he is back in Kokomo.

Who was the KCP engineering manager that died ealy a couple years ago? He usually had booze on his breath.

So I'm understanding that nobody knows what the future holds for KCP. All I've read is one "opinion" from route31. Everyone else is running thier mouths about nothing. Does anybody have any concrete information or not?!?!?!?!?

This is rumor, guy I know has a school buddy that works reps BuhlerPrince. Said a rather large order was placed by a tier 1 supplier for die cast machines. They are supposed to ship to mexico. This is in addition to the first batch that were due to be deliered this year. He talked like it was for an additional volume of 1 million units.

What ever happened to KCP getting back some small parts to make ? I keep hearing about how all this new stuff is coming to them soon but nothing seems to be happening.

Schaffer hit the road earlier this year. He understood that a large storm was blowing in and didnít want to be around when it hit!
