Detroit (MyFoxDetroit)-
Two people are dead following a violent morning that began at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit.

FOX 2's Amy Andrews reports a man was stabbed inside the factory before 9 a.m. Thursday. She talked to the victim's cousin, who also works at the factory. He tells Andrews his cousin was stabbed in the neck and taken to St. John Hospital where he later died.

Police confirm to FOX 2 that the man's suspected assailant fled the scene and later took his own life on Detroit's Belle Isle.

Calls placed to Chrysler officials have not been returned.

Police remain on the scene at the factory where the Jeep Grand Cherokee is made.

We'll continue to update this story as more information becomes available.

Figures all over a woman I bet all parties have some degree of responsibility in this heard this has been an issue between these guys for a while why didn't Management or the Union do something this didn't have to end this way. I'm sure Chrysler and the Union will have their own little spin on this to weasle out of any accountability always do.

Of course they haven't made a decision. They don't want to look like a callous corporation and say they are working. But we I'll be starting up at 4:30 as if nothing happened.

Of course you will Management needs their numbers off the end of the line that's all that matters and where will the Union be telling you there is nothing in the contract they can do that. somebody should call the news and tell them.

It's official....we are working. That was an easy call to make. I know I should feel bad, but I really don't care. Sure if it was a family member I would. But someone I just work with? No. Been working with the same people for all these years and can say it wouldn't be a big deal if it was one of them. Just as long as its not me. It's just a place where I get a check from each week. Nothing more than that. Sure as heck not going to waste my day off and come back to work for Family Day. Unless I am getting paid, I have no reason to walk through those turnstiles.

You're right saying all parties involved have some degree of responsibility. However, when people bring their personal crap into work with them, how is that management or the union's fault? What next? Should we have to walk thru metal detectors when entering the building? Chrysler has no control over peoples' personal lives and would you want them to? Its just an unfortunate incident.
