Dealership "Clunks" Maserati As Part Of Government Program

We all know the Cash for Clunkers program, but today a local dealership gave the phrase new meaning.

this is insane....throwing away good cars...how green...and that crap leaking into water supplies and gardens everywhere.

Trading in a Maserati on a toyota? "toyota was not capitalized on purpose" Buy American! At least trade it on a car that wont rust out in 5 years! Buy American people! Help OUR country's economy!

That's not a "real" Maserati. It's chrysler joint effort stuff. Even worse than the Cadillac Cimmaron

This "Maserati" is nothing more than a glorified LeBaron. Most people have probably seen one, and didn't even know it was a "Maserati".
As usual, a car dealer's ad is all hype. Assuming this car was in excellent condition, and average miles, it was worth $2500 tops.

That Chrysler TC was an American car. After it was taken out of production, part of the design was then used on the LeBaron. It would be interesting to find out what percentage of parts on an "American" car are manufactured in the US.

That Toyota? MSNBC did a piece entitled All-American: Top 10 most patriotic cars where it showed Toyota to actually be more of an American car than the Big 3.

What part of the design are you referring to that was then used on the Lebaron ? The third generation coupe and convertible had that body style already in '87.
