Yestrday i was on the highway for 2 hrs and an hour in on the return trip the Check engine light came on on my 2005 300 limted w 40,000 miles on it. When you scroll through the menu it says SYSTEM OK. shoudld i just disconnect the batt for an hour and see if it goes away. How can i see what code it is in the display on the dash?

I have a 2005 Chrysler 300 and it has 43K miles. The engine light has been on for a few weeks. The car appears to operating without any issues. I went to get my emissions test and they said that the reason the light was on was preventing the car from providing a emissions reading. My car did not fail or pass - it was just marked 'not ready' to review emissions. I was told to unhook the negative terminal on the battery and then reconnect and the light would disappear - this did not work. Are there any other suggestions?
