Two worsening symptoms, starting 2-3 years ago in my '03 Pilot:#1) The ENTIRE vehicle vibrates, sometime violently. It's random with inconsistent occurance.#2) Not always connected to the vibration is a whirring sound that seems to be coming from the left side of the dashboard when the windows are closed but if I have the window down and can get a better listen while driving slowly, I can definitely hear that it's coming from the underside and sounds like vibrating metal.(catalytic converter cover???)
I have taken it back to the dealer 3 times with no success. When it's taken out for a test drive, my Pilot won't act up (sort of like when a toothache stops hurting when you go to the dentist).
I don't know if the two issues are related; they do not occur simultaneously but it does seem that after the whirring sound occurs several times, the car will vibrate. That isn't always true but in trying to find some sort of relationship between the whirring and the vibration, this is about the only thing I can determine and even that isn't consistent.
The 2nd issue sounds similar to something I have noticed on our 08 pilot. we discovered it was an issue w/ the air conditioner. I found a lot of these service people do not really know what they are doing unless you hold their hand be as specific as possible i.e. tell them where to look.

I have a 2004 Honda Pilot that has made a sound best described as placing you lips together and blowing out. It has occurred for 5-6 months only when the accelrator is depressed at a fairly constant speed(high or low)and is intermittent. The performance has not been affected and Honda cannot find anything wrong but they do hear the sound and admit it is not normal. Has anyone had this sound or does anyone know what it is?

IF it is the same thing - I finally got resolution from a 3rd Honda Dealership - they replaced the Noise Reduction Control Module (I think that is what they called it)- it is the controller that reduces engine and outside noise. Whatever it was, I haven't had that issue since they made the repair. Now if I could just get my three kids to stay quiet in the car:)

I have a 2003 I bought new, one of the first. I have that same vibrating noise at about 42 miles per hour. It started about a year ago. Dealer told me it was the tires, replaced those and the noise is still there. It sounds like your are driving over a grate in the road, you don't feel anything though. Has anyone gotten any resolution to this problem?

I have a 2008 pilot with a damaged front bumper face skid. That is the bottom center plate of the front bumper. Computer illustrations shows the part is removable. My questions are: Do you have to remove the front bumper to replace this part?, Is it a two men job?, Is the part mounted to the front bumper by hanging hooks and secure with two tapping screws?. Thanks.

I have a 2005 Pilot EX and turned of the engine last night, and this morning it was completely dead. Usually if it is the battery, there is still a little juice to turn on the starting lights, and make the usual tones when you insert the key; but this morning it was completely dead. I turn the key and nothing. All black and silent. Cannot turn on headlights, interiorlights or radio. I thought it may be battery or one of the main fuses. Has anyone had this problem or know what it may be?
I have had this happen if I leave the key in it. When you leave the key in, the automatic lights do not shut off until the battery is completely drained.

I have this same exact problem with my 2004 Pilot. Did you ever figure out what was wrong?
I also have that problem and the dealer said to replace the EGR valve which we did and that did not fix it!

2007 Honda Pilot Sunroof will not slide back, starts to open, but does not drop down all the way to slide back.
The sunroof will operate OK for the function where just the back of the sunroof tilts up.

Our 2007 Honda Pilot is experiencing a loud humming noise, sounds like a deep bass vibration coming over the stereo system. Only problem with this analysis is that the noise still happens when the sound system is OFF! First experienced right after Labor Day 2008. At that time it only vibrated loudly at stop signs. Also, if you opened the window it would stop. Took in to dealer and they searched for any recalls. Honda told them to replace the noise dampener. Guess what, the noise is 100 times worse. Now the noise is audible on the road 75% of the time. It seems to occur when the car is not requiring gas to be fed. Going up hill no noise, when you crest hill and car kicks in the eco, the noise starts, as soon as requires gas again it goes off. This noise is very loud and very annoying. Pretty much, the noise comes from the back passenger side of the third row area.
HAS ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM SOLVED? WHAT DID THE DEALER DO TO SOLVE IT? PLEASE POST SO I CAN TELL THEM WHAT NEEDS FIXED. SOON!!!

I have a 2006 Pilot with a rubbing noise. I took it in 2x for the rubbing noise (they didn't hear it). The third time I took it in it was rubbing loud enough for them to hear it. The dealership said they thought it was the tires rubbing the rim. I have never heard of this. They rotated the tires, lubed them and rebalanced them. A week later the rubbing noise is happening again. They are going to do more research and call me in a week. Does anyone else have this problem? They said it has been reported a couple times on this model. One possible fix would be to replace all tires and rims. I think this is a crazy expensive fix.

I have an '04 Pilot and have had the same problem. My battery went dead yesterday and I had a problem with one of my fuse plugs. After getting the car up and running, the radio was locked. I did what the book said to find the code but the code had numbers in it that were not on the radio controls. Anyone have any suggestions on how that works??????
