I have a 2003 Pilot, about a year ago I started experiencing the following.
The Pilot would not start. It would just click as if the starter silnoid was bad, or sometimes it would not even click as if the battery was dead. I had battery and alternator tested and both checked ok. I replaced the battery terminals clamps and it seemed that problem was solved, but 2 months later the same problem habppen again. A simple boost and the Pilot started and continued to start for another 3 to 4 months and problem occured again. Had battery and Alternator checked and both checked ok. Has anybody experenced this?
We have this problem but only when we don't turn the key the full way to start...almost as if you only turn it partially then it will do the clicking.

With our 2005 EXL w/ DVD seems that the DVD screen has gone almost black and white...there is very little color. The dealer first thought it was fine...then said it is 'probably' the screen. To replace will cost $1K. Nuts. Anyone had this problem? My next step is to get a DVD laser cleaner.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

2004 Pilot Problems, Buffalo NY
1) Driver seat (bottom section) does not heat but the back (vertical section) of the seat does. I only use it to get the chill off.
2) In the winter, water leaks in and ends up on the passengers feet area. I am not sure if it is the AC or the snow on the windshield. It does produce a lot of water in the summer from the AC use. I am tracking the water with poor results.

I have an 07 Pilot EXL we've had for a little over a year. Last year Honda had to replace the radio (XM-ready, 6-CD unit) because of an intermittent popping noise. Normally I drive just around the area, but we noticed on a long trip recently that it's very difficult to hear the radio. I've never thought the sound system was particularly good, but when we took a long trip last year I think it was okay.

Does anyone know about problems with the sound system, or is this just common for Honda. This vehicle has by far, the worst sound system of any vehicle we've owned.

Thanks

I get the Helicopter noise when the windows are down I'm sure its some kind of harmonic ..I dont Think its anything to worry about<quoted text>
It caused by the air coming into the SUV and the way it is getting out is causing a pressure wave. Getting wind deflectors on the window usually doesnt work but you can give it a try.

my driver's door lock seems to be sticking. I can't get it to activate, although it is "trying" to when I use both the remote and the lock activator on the door.
anyone else have this problem? I have taken the door apart and the lock doesn't seem to be sticking or difficult to activate.
thanks.

Hi... having lots of trouble with our 2007 Honda Pilot cloth upholstery seats. Water stains are terrible!! Wife brought an umbrella into the Pilot and the seats are spotted. Badly spotted.
I know exactly what you are talking about, I have an 08 pilot purchased only 3 mnths ago and the kids hopped in damp from the pool and you can see the total outline of there behinds on the seats, plus many spots from water. Took to the dealer who refered me to the auto spa who suggested that I clean it foten with carpet cleaner and my want to get the $490.00 dupont stain guard applied. Nice solution..........

I have a Honda Pilot 2003 and so far I have had multiple problems. My chrome interior handles have been chipping so much that you cut your fingers when opeing the doors. My rear dock lock motors went out and I had to replace them...very costly. Then I had this mysterious Blinking "D" problem for almost 1 year now, and a couple of weeks ago I supposedly got it fixed...and then last week my transmission went out. Never again, will I buy a Honda. Their service is very costly, and then when things go wrong (and they will)..time after time after time...it is very frustrating. I encourage anyone....DO NOT BUY A HONDA!!! I love my Pilot but am very sad about the whole situation.

My 2003 Pilot has been slipping out of gear sporadically over the last few weeks, similar to what was described in some prior comments. I brought it to the dealer and they said I need a new transmission, and there's no warranty coverage. We bought the vehicle used at about 23k miles, and it currently has about 60k miles. We've never, ever towed anything with it, and we rarely ever even have more than 2 adults and 2 kids in it.
I'm concerned about this, and about whether Honda has a systemic defect in this product, not to mention whether the new transmission will break in another 60k miles. Feedback?
I have a 2003 Pilot and I just got my vehicle back from the Stealership yesterday...my transmission went as well. I have 86,000 miles on it but I will never buy another Honda again. This has been a very bad choice of vehicles to buy. I know we are not the only ones this has happened too.

Have a 2004 EXL runs great except the only accessory outlet that works is the one by the radio. Aren't all the accessory outlets on the same fuse ?
Just to let you know, my 2003 Pilot's automatic transmission just went as well, after 86,000 miles. Just horrible!

I have a 2004 Honda Pilot and it has only 49,800 miles on it and the D light started flashing last week. Honda said it would be $108 to run the diagnostic test. I don't know what to do...
I have a 2003 Honda Pilot and I too have had the flashing D light for about 1 year now. They diagnoised it as the 4th pressure switch failure. They also found a malfunction in the transmission pressure switch. This cost me $282.37; however, 1 week later my transmission failed. If I were you, I would go see a Dealership soon.

Hello, I have 2006 pilot and for some reason the dvd system does not send sound to the headphones. I have tried to plug in headphones to the jacks but they don't work either. Is anyone or has anyone had this problem before.

Anyone get a bad silver paint job on your 2007 Honda Pilot?
I've just recently noticed that the complete rear of my 2007 Pilot is rusted, I was told it is because of something in the wheels. Honda does not want to fix this problem and I am pissed. What are my options?

American Honda has agreed to replace all upholstery. All costs covered!
Wow! I have same problem with my 2008 VP Pilot which may have cheaper upholstery than the EX...did they tell you how to clean future stains? We live in FL so lots of wetness, not to mention smoothy stains! Thanks.

I just responded to Larry and then saw your post. I have same problem ...seems like Honda replaced his upholstery. I have an '08, too, with just 5K miles on it (it's a VP, which is the cheapo version, but still great, our third Pilot!). Maybe if Honda replaces enough upholstery, they'll change the fabric. Never again will I not have leather!
