Hah! Just saw this post. We've had dead and mangled mice removed twice from our blower motor. Even had to replace the cylindrical fan assembly once. The techs said that there was no way this could happen. Almost glad to hear someone else is having this happen. No solution that I know of. They just seem to like it in there and now I know how to get inside and fish them out.
I have a continuing mouse problem with my 2006. Would you be so kind as to post the method you use to get them out? TIA

After attempting to read 24 pages of blogs, I can see the Asian car makers are no different. They have their fair share of problems. Contrary to popular belief, buyers don't seem to be very satisfied with the poor quality of the Pilot. Looks like the friendly Honda repair shop is full and not doing much to remedy the situation. The honeymoon is over.
The Pilot is not entirely made in Japan - fianl assembly in done in either the US or Canada.

I have the same vibration problem with my 06 Pilot. I don't believe open windows have anything to do with this problem. I have been able to replicate this deep resonant vibration when throttling up, or down especially, when there is weight in the back of the vehicle, 2 adults in 2nd row, 1 in third and windows closed. It seems to be some sort of harmonic vibration from the exhaust system and only occurs at engine speeds of 1500 to 2000 rpms. When driving alone or with one front row passenger I haven't noticed the sound. I will be visiting the dealer soon to get there response. Otherwise I have been satisfied with my Pilot.

The noise comes from having only one window open.
As soon as you open a second window that noise goes away
good luck

I just locked the only set of keys I own to my Pilot in the car. I was told that if this happens a locksmith will not be able to get it open, and I will have to have it towed to a dealership. Is this true?

No, get a plastic or wooden door stop, rubber mallet and wedge it between the top of a door and roof - hammer down to get a small opening - next, use a disposable shirt hanger and pull up on the lock. Good Luck !

No, get a wooden door stop, rubber mallet and wire shirt hanger. Hammer down the door stop on top of one of the doors until you get a small opening, then use the hanger to pull up on the lock and bravo!, you're in.

I have a 2006 Pilot. My gas cap light did the very same thing. It didn't matter what I did. I reset the button, I opened and shut the gas cap (making sure to turn it 3 clicks). Finally my Honda mechanic did something and this problem is now fixed. I would take it back in immediately and have another mechanic look at it. It's VERY annoying to keep seeing that on the dash!! Good luck!

I also started getting the "gas cap" light coming on. No idea why. I have checked it and it stays on. Honda said it would reset itself. When? When the bulb burns out on the indicator?

our 2003 pilot started having trouble with keys not working in locks, so i added keyless entry. eventually the keys would not slide into the ignition, only the valet key would work. now it is starting to have problems in the ignition. What's up??? anybody???
I have a problem with the key sliding into the ignition - the dealer says the key has a bur on it and has worn the ignition. I had an independant locksmith examine both original keys and he found no bur. I am still in discussions with Honda. Have you learned any more?

I have 2003 pilot. It works after I replace the shim at about 12000 miles but now the car is about 55000, I think the noise is back and I will replace it again....i know the pilot and the Suv because their weight that is problem with the noise when you back up in the morning and pull up the stop sign and the first noise you hear in the morning is cause by the shim. good luck.

I bought an '06 Pilot new. It now has 30k on the odometer. The leather on the side air bag cover on both front seats is really showing wear. Holes have opened up on both sides where driver and passenger rub against the the seat when getting in, or out, of the car. Honda agreed to replace the leather " one time only as a goodwill gesture" I've owned numerous cars since the early '50s with leather seats and have never seen anything like this.
I too have an 06 Pilot which I bought new. I don't weigh very much, and the way my leather looks, you'd think I was heavy and sliding off the sides of the seats! A car seat left indentions that haven't come out yet. Crazy! I had a pontiac for four years with leather, and it looked like new when I traded it. I just contacted my Honda guy about something to put on the seats. We're trying to sell our Honda, and I'm afraid that this might hurt it's value or someone liking the vehicle. It may run the best, but I'm wondering about the quality in materials.

Has anyone heard that the Honda Pilot odometer is recording that your mileage is higher then it should be? I saw a segment on the "Today Show" about it a month or so ago but could not find anything on their website or anywhere else.

I have an 06 Pilot. A while back I received something from a law firm. It said that I could fill out all these forms, etc, etc. only to get 2k added to my warranty. I don't remember the exact details, but I remember the hassle wasn't worth it.

This is interesting, and a little different from mine. I thought I was going crazy, but when my Pilot was idling at the stop light, there was a vibrating annoying noise that kind of hurt my ears. When I open up my driver's window a little bit, it goes away. It's happened several times, but only when it's idling with the windows up. Now I know how to relieve that noise. Doesn't make sense really.

I have a 2007 pilot and when going a constant speed on straight away, no hills, and you barely press the gas pedal, it sounds like someone has a ping pong paddle rapidly hitting it back and forth in a cardboard box. Have no idea what this is .

Also, I was driving down the street and a stop light caught me so I had to do a quick stop. After stopping the engine was running real rough almost like it was going to quit. I looked at the tach and rpms were right on 700 to 750 rpm very close to normal if not normal. Have no idea what this is. Both these happen with the air conditioner on.

My 2003 Pilot has a serious AC problem which has left the dealer speachless. I have taken it to Honda 4 times already for the same problem. Th AC does blow cold air. The found a leak in the AC, repaired it and sent me on my way. Two days later no AC. Back to the dealer. Said there was another leak in the system, repaired it , filled the system and check for leaks, said everything was OK(2nd Time) This happened another 2 times, and today after picking up the car from the dealer just 3 days ago, the AC is out for a 5th time. CAN ANYBODY HELP.

I am having very similar problem on '03 Pilot. ABS pump was suspect, but not reporting trouble. Loose bracket found and tightened, still happens. Has your problem been resolved?

Any one have this problem? At 45 to 50 MPH after the engine hits overdrive, let off the gas and then press the gas just enough to keep constant speed. The engine vibrates and makes a growling noise. They could not find the problem so when the Honda rep was in town he said replace the Torque converter and trans. Problem in my opinion is worse. They now tell me the noise is not as loud and they all do that. BS! This just started recently and I only have 46,000 miles on the vehicle. They are now going to make me an appointment with the factory rep.

My husband and I purchased a '06 Pilot last August and have had problems with the brake light and VSA light flashing on and off. Had it checked the first time and was told the brake fluid was low. After it hapenned again had it checked and was told the fluid is leaking into the master cylinder. Now Honda is replacing the master cylinder at their expense. Hope you don't have this happen to you.

I purchased a Pilot '06 this July and have experienced problems with my brakes. The brake pedal can be high and firm one day or low and mushy the next day or within minutes of driving. I don't know what distance it will take me to stop the vehicle. I took the Pilot back three times to the dealer, who says every vehicle has its own characteristics. I wonder if he would like to be driving around with this characteristic?
The service manager and dealership look at me like I'm some kind of space alien explaining this problem. Each time I took it back, no one physically looked at any of the mechanics of the brakes. One technician took it for a 5 minute drive and said the brakes are good and released the Pilot back to me.
Has anyone experienced brake problems in a '06 Pilot?

I have a 2007 with only 17,000 miles and have the same problem. I will take it back to the dealer and hope they have a fix.
