My 1997 Z71 fuel pump has went out 3 times. When I replace them iot only last 8 months. Could it be a wiring issue? Has anyone heard of this problem?

Yea when you replace the fuel pump you need to replace the wiring harness that connects to the pump. This is a very known problem with certain year models.

don't let the fuel guage get down to the orange stripe. when it gets that low the fuel in the tank don't keep the pump cool so they will burn up. also make sure youre getting the pump with the right pressure output. if its vortec you need a pump to push about 75 lbs of fuel pressure.

2002 Chevy Blazer (Fuel injected) has a problem - 2 fuel pumps burned out, a wiring connector melted and another replaced, several fuses burnt, and the Blazer shakes violently when trying to start and takes 5-10 minutes to finally start. Has been known to cut out and stop while driving. Four mechanics have looked and all seem to get it running...for awhile.

I have a 2000 z71 that i resently hit a telephone pole with it bent the frame badly on the passenger side,it didnt kill the engine, didnt bust radiatior, just bent the piss outta the hood and passenger side fender, broke the front axle housing in 3 different places.I should have let insurance total it, but i bought it back! by telling u all that, i have swoped frames out with a 2001 chevrolet frame identicial to my truck same make, body style, color, ect. just different year model just not bent it was plipped on its roof! Didnt bust the grill lol. i used the same cab off my old frame, wiring harness, motor, and everything! my fuel pump won't respond! workd fine b4 the accident! would i be having the same problem in my situation?

I had one that i replaced fuel pump on and it still would not work. I finally found that the wire in the fuse link on the firewall was broken up inside the sealed part of the fuse link. I cut the fuse link out and replaced it with a regular replaceable fuse and it works fine now. Hope this helps.

2001 chevy blazer the fuel pump keeps going out. It has gone out at least 4 times in the past year. Replace it everytime with a new pump but just dies after a month or two. The mechanic I'm working with thinks its the filters but replace them all and still having the problem.

Fuel tank or fuel pump will not send pressure to the fuel rail, fuel lines, or even to the new fuel fillter. Replaced fuel pump twice and no pressure or very little pressure, pressure reads at 1 on the fuel pressure gage. Looking for help on this mind boggeling issue. 1991 Olds Cutlass Supreme, 3.1L
