"General Motors has invested (and continues to invest) over $1.5 billion in the Chevy Volt (aka "The Ampere Eater"!) electric vehicle."... so what?
The Ford Edsel did not sell because of Ford's marketing mistake and the public's sentiments for its style at that time, not because it was a lemon car.

The question is: "Is the Volt better than a Ford Focus EV or Nissan leaf ? Put politics aside and judge the product as an American consumer. As consumers, are we better off with just a Nissan Leaf and/or Ford Focus EV without a Volt? Would you feel better if Toyota thought of the Volt instead of GM?
