I bought a 2006 trailblazer a week and a half ago. The day after i bought it my husband was driving it while raining and gas about gone then my check engine light came on.He thought he might have drove it through a puddle. The next day i filled it up went down the road and the light went off. That night it came back on.For the next 2 days it came on and off.I thought it might have been the fuel cap.I then took it to my stepdad who is a mechanic to check the obd.The code p0014 came up which is the crankshaft. The code erased and he told me as soon as it came back on to take it to the cheverolet dealer as it still has warranty for 6000 more miles.Well that has been a week ago and the light has not came back on. Now im worried that it wont come back on till after my warranty is up. Im hoping that my husband did go through a puddle and it might have got it wet and gave a false code i hope.Any insight?

I have a 2003 EXT, and I had the code p0014, to make a long story short, I now have a new motor $7860.00 at my cost because my extended warranty co. Mercury Insurance Group, said they would not pay for a new motor, even though I have changed my oil every 3000 - 3500 miles and have proof. They are "JERKS", but the fight with them has just begun!! Good LUCK!!

I had a similar problem after fueling up where the check engine light kept coming on then would go off. The dealer changed the gas cap, they said the cap wasn't sealing properly. They also reset the computer. This was about 4 years ago on an 02 trailblazer and I haven't had any other engine light problems. Good luck

I have an 03 Trailblazer and it does the same thing from time to time. I found out today that the Check engine light turns on when your car senses something different. For example Hotter air,Denser air, Water in unusual place. mot of the time its not a problem. I just need to figure out how to turn the light off.

I just bought a used 05 TB, I drove it off the lot went straight to gas station to fill up, then about 1 mile down the road check eng light lit up. I called dealer back, they told me to wiggle the gas cap.....about half mile later, it did cut off.....i bought new gas cap right after that, the next day i put about 6.00 of gas back in to see if the new cap worked......the engine light came back on ...its been almost 2 days now and its not gone off yet.....WHAT DO I DO? HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GO OFF?

We just bought a 2006 TB LS. Engine Light came on a week after ownership. Auto Zone ran code check and it indicated Air Flow and Oxy Sensors. I cleaned Air Flow and light went off. I disconnected the neg cable after it came on again and a week later came back on. So I will change out the sensors one at a time. Was going to change plugs but you have to tear the engine half apart to get to them.

I have a 2003 Trailblazer with a 305 V8 and it has 19K miles on it. The check engine light comes on about weekly and has since I bought it new in 03. I have taken it back to the Chev. Dealer 15 times and been charged in excess of $5,000. for reparis. I also have an 2002 Acura MDX that has 98K miles on it and has never had a nickel spent on it other that oil filter, oil changes, wiper blades and the likes of that. It also gets twice the mpg in city and about 5 mpg highway and has more performance as well. This Trailblazer is the worst car that I have ever owned and I will never own another GM product as long as I live. The factory was contacted many times to no avil, they only kissed me off. No wonder that they are broke.

Where are the sensors located? Did that solve the problem?

I just bought a 2006 Trailblazer. Two days off the lot and the engine light is on. I feel like a dumb ass for even buying this pos. The engine now makes noise, trans. shifts weard now and then, the rear wiper gets hung up, the list goes on. I've never had a car stress me out so bad in such a short period of time.

Do the following before spending any real money.
My belief is that most check engine light problems relate to dirty throttle body and air leaks after changing air filter.
1. Clean throttle body completely with carberator cleaner and toothbrush.
2. Open up the air cleaner assembly and reassemble making sure that the mechanism is closed properly and completely.
3. Clean the Mass Air Flow sensor only with MAF cleaner.
Code will probably go off by itself but if not reset.
I suspect this will solve your problem,

GM should really get this gas cap problem separate from the engine problem. Yeah, I know, they're all connected. But if they can tell when the tires are under inflated or going flat they can tell you to fix your gas cap.

my 2009 trailblazer's engine light came on and it turned out to be the gas cap after waiting the whole day for the dealer to figure out what was wrong. this happened twice in 15 months of owning it. two full days wasted and i am on my third crummy gas cap. i am sure i will be back soon with the same issue. the gas cap is huge problem on these suv's. very low quality and they have an important function keeping pressure in the fuel system. i got a great deal on the final year of this model but i am paying for it with stupid service calls for gas caps.

Sounds like same issue I have. I talked to a friend of mind that works for GM and said I needed to replace the evaporated vent valve. So I'm doing that this week. U should try it. Only a 30 part

f the engine is running fine except for a light on the dash, no one in their right mind would "replace the whole engine." Are you actually that dumb?

Check engine light comes on when I fill my tank. It goes off when gage reads just below 3/4. It comes back on again at just aboev 1/4.
Anyone have any idea?
