I'm planning on buying a 04-06 Trailblazer in the near future. Just wondering what kind of gas mileage you are getting. Any other comments, pro or con, would be appreciated. thanks, Stan

I have an 04 Trailblazer with the 6 cylinder and it gets around 18 MPG on the highway and about 12 MPG in the city. Rather tough considering that gas is $3.00/gallon.

I am going to swap out the engine an old British car that currently has an in-line six. I was considering a small block chev but am now considering a Trail Blazer six. Any complaints or reliability concerns with this engine?

I've driven my 2002 trailblazer for six months and 20,000 miles so far and it's been really great. It carries great mid range torque. The only thing I don't like is the clutch fan, I would prefer an electric, other than than that- its a great engine. Mine has the 4.2 Vortec with an inline six. I'm getting 22 miles a gallon highway with it.

I have 2002 trailblazer. Got 16 mpg on the highway since I bought it new in 2001. Last month suddenly the mileage improved to 20 mpg. I have approx 40000 miles on it. But now my "service engine soon" came on. I have to spend $100 to get the codes read and see what is wrong?

I have a 2002 trailblazer and just had the service engine light come on also. I tightened the gas cap and the light hasn't come on since.

I have an '04 trailblazer ext. I-6 3.73 gears with 30,000 miles on it now. I'm lucky if I get close to 15mpg hihgway and as low as 7mpg town. Now I know why the mileage was so low when I bought it. Was told I should get at least 18mpg average when I bought it, but now dealer said this is normal and I should be happy I'm getting that.

Just curious, are you checking with calculator miles/galon or are you just going by the dic?? Because mine says I'm averaging about 16.5, and yes I do reset it at each fill up....

I have an '04 Trailblazer with 23,000 miles. I've maintained the same mileage from day one - 16 - 18 around town and 21-22 on the highway. I drive conservatively and stay at or under the speed limit, especially on the interstate. Those blowing by at 80mph are eating probably 20% more gas than me at 68.

hi bud you will get much better milage if you travel at speeds of 50=55mph. should increase your milage by 2-3 mpg.. good luck

Regular unleaded. Keep it 89 octane or under or your fuel injectors will gum up.
