HEllo all, I have a situation with my TB 05, my fuel level sensor, this started 2 weeks ago after I fueled my tank and it was giving me the empty light and the tank was full. If anyone knows where this part is located please let me know, so that I can check and see if is possible to do it myself.
The Sensor is inside the gas tank you have drop the tank to replace it i have a 05 TB ext same problem

I just bought a 2005 today and the sensor said I was out of gas. I was in a hurry so I put about $10 in it and it came up to about 1/4 tank. Later this evening, I filled it the rest of the way and now it says I'm empty again. I bought the extended warranty, but I'm going to be pissed off if I have to shell out the $100 for the deductible already. Has Chevy done anything to rectify this problem?

I have the same issue with my 05 TB. But I also recently put a crack in a cylindar, damage to a valve - I need a whole new engine at 62,000 miles. Last GM Product I ever buy.

I have the same problem on my 05 Trailblazer. I believe that th problem is related to another problem I have been having. I have done much research on this and I think the problem is in the motors that run the gauges. They are called stepper moters. My problem started with my speedometer not working. I went round and round with GM about this problem, but in the end they refused to fix it. Do some searching on this forum and you will find many other owners with multiple problems with thier gauges.

I dont understand what is going on with our 2005 TB's. The dealership wont help me and I have seen 3 that the fuel sensor are out. What can I do about the fuel sensor?
My sensor just went out on my 2005 TrailBlazer at just over 35,000 miles. Dealer was going to charge me $650.00 to replace since I was over my 3 year warranty. I was told that GM is not "recalling" this part, but if you take it in and tell them that you smell gas they will replace it for no cost to you. I was browsing the web looking for info on this broken gage and was sick when I seen how many people have trouble with this same thing. I am seriously thinking about not leasing another TrailBlazer after all of the trouble that we have had in such a short time of use. Good luck

I have a 2005 Trailblazer and my fuel light stays on, the fuel gauge is not registering so I am playing the guessing game when it comes down to filling up with gas. Also, I can run the heat/ac unit with the truck shutting off. I can run it as long as I am driving the truck but when I have to come to a complete stop it shutters and cuts off. I am glad to see that I am not the only one having issues with my fuel gauge. Least I know I am not crazy.

Well, I have the Envoy GMC 05 and it happend the same, check engine comes on and the OBD reads fuel level sensor high input, dealer told me there is no recall, they want $900.00, its simply absurd from GM not wanting to do anything,

My sister and I both have this problem with our 2006/2007 Trailblazers. How many cases does there need to be before there can be a recall?

I didn't read all the comments, so I'm sorry if I'm repeating something. But, my 2005 T-Blaz stopped on the highway the day after Thanksgiving while taking my mother back to the airport.

I'll save you all the drama that happened over this (it's a real doozy of a story), but needless to say the fuel indicator is a known problem in the '05 Trailblazer and mine was replaced for free by the Chevrolet dealership near me, and this was just this past Thanksgiving holiday in 2008.

If you have an '05 T-Blaz, and the fuel indicator light is coming on with gas in it, contact a Chevrolet dealership before wasting your own money and time trying to fix something, that I was personally told by the bay manager that this was a known issue by Chevrolet for the '05 Trailblazer.

Not to repeat what everyone else has already stated, but not only did my gas guage go out after 40,000 miles (dealer refused to fix), but the alternator failed, and I get a check engine light on, but diagnostics find nothing wrong. I would give anything to get rid of this vehicle, but I still owe too much money. Never again!

Same problem with my 05 trailblazer. Interesting to know that I am not the only one with a problem. Mine will cost $378 to fix. Looks like I am getting a "deal"
