Hi - I have a 2007 Trailblazer. The other day I pulled into a parking lot, and noticed that my fuel gauge read "Empty". I thought this was strange, since I had just put gas in. As I watched, the gauge began to rise, and after about 30 seconds was back where it should be. This has happened two more times since then.

I thought about taking it in for repair, but since I had no waring lights on (Check Engine, etc), I figured nothing could be done unless it happens to be malfunctioning when I take it in.

Has anybody had this problem, or does anybody have any ideas about getting it fixed? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

i have a major problem with my 2005 trailblazer ext. Every time i put fuel in it it will show I have gas but when i turn it off and back on it will read empty or Low fuel. It's strange because I bought a new gas cap and have to put at least 1.00 in it just to find out how much i have. I've also seen it rise and lower periodicolly but mostly it goes right to empty. i am not getting any answers either. let me know what you find out if anything.

I have the same problem with a 2005 GMC Envoy. From what I have read, this is a problem on several GM products. Has anyone considered a
class action. Even though I hate class action lawsuits, I think this is a design flaw, but I
understand GM will not do anything about it.
The cost to remove the gas tank and replace the
sensor runs $500 or more.

I am having the same problem with my 2005 Trailblazer. It happens after I fill it up with gas--twice in a row now. My brother, who is an engineer at GM, said that the computer would reset once the car sat a while. The computer did reset but today it is doing it again after a fill up. I have notified him & given him the link for this Web site.

I am having the same problem with my 2005 Trailblazer EXT. Everyone I fill up it goes to empty with the light on. It will raise up some after about 50 miles but drops up and down all the time. It seems this may be a problem with these vehicles. I had a mechanic tell me the sensor runs 400-500 just for the part.

My 2005 Trailblazer is doing the same thing - reads empty after filling it up. Sometimes corrects itself after a while, sometimes it stays on empty for days.

I have had the same problem..... you are not along. I have a 2005 TB LT and it does the same thing. I have just been watching the fuel used gauge instead. Call me cheap but I am not going to spend 500 bucks to have them pull my tank out and change it when I can just do it that way.

Was told you have to replace the fuelpump to fix the showing empty on gauge. Autozone price $421. Just drop the tank. GM should have a recall I think

We have the same problem on our 2005 GMC Envoy. Also started noticing problems with our trip display that shows all the fancy measurements with the lcd digits.

Everytime we fill up the tank shows empty and it takes about 20 min to show full again.

How did they get to the sensor without dropping the tank?

2007 Chevy Trailblazer I filled up last night and this morning my tank read empty! I thought I was dreaming that I had filled up my car but on my way to work it slowly started to rise....is this a known issue with Chevy Trailblazers...seems to be amongst only the owners based on this post and not the manufacturer.

Yep, right along with you. 2005 GMC Envoy - faulty gauge. Reads empty 95% of the time. The needles will raise to the 1/4 line and drop within seconds. Frustrating!

Did someone say class action lawsuit? Why wasn't this recalled?

I have a 2007 Envoy and my gas gauge has done the same thing. I filled up and the meter immediatly pointed towards empty then the light came on.
GM should have issued a recall for this.
If someone knows about a class action lawsuit, please let me know!

I have a 2002 chevy corvette that does exactly what the envoy owners have complained about, I can have a half a tank of gas, and all of a sudden my gage will read empty, LOW FUEL, and I know I have gas!
