I have a 2003 trailblazer that the headlights keep going out then come back on a few min later.
Any ideas? I swapped the relays around and still the lights go out.

I had something like that. My low beams went out and occasionally worked.
Turns out that I needed a relay.

Found on another forum that it is the solid state relay #46 under the hood. It has #15016745 on it. I am going to try this hopefully it will work.

I was told the trailblazer has known problems with relay overheating. When it cools it comes back on.

I went to get a new relay. Out of stock, and not on order. Auto Zone and Advance Auto.

Hint. Go to Junk Yard.
I swapped the relay with the other one. Lights are on. I intend to replace the other relay, I do not know what it might detrimentally affect. Heater Fan?
Early failure may be due to having Driving lights come on automatically whan car is started. I also need to replace Low Beam headlamps too frequently.

I also Had something like that but my 2003 Trailblazer Low Beam on the right only, keeps burning the wire conector out and the light stops working. At around $30.00 a piece for this conector this gets expensive. Does anyone know what this could be????

I have a 2006 Trailblazer with low beam headlight failure, both lights at the same time. The high beams work.. No power to the low beam fuses in the fuse box under the hood. I changed the relay switch around with on the the other relays with the same part number. Still no cure...

Ideas?

From what I have been reading it maybe that the HDM Relay#46 is going. I changed the bulb still no good. I have the diagram for the headlight system and after the HDM Relay there is also a Left l HDLP fuse 6 10A in line. However, I still think that our Main relay #46 is on the wayout.. Will replace that.

Had the same problem with the low beam headlights, it was the relay 15016745. Found it on ebay for $20. Also, had the headlamp connector problem, the plastic connector burned up with standard lamps. Apparently the higher power bulbs cause this quite frequently and they make an aftermarket connector you can buy on ebay for about $17 for a pair. I removed my compleate headlight assembly, spliced the heavy duty connector in and after 6 months it's still good.

we are having the same issues, low beams go out for no apparent reason. in researching this does seem to be a common problem with the trailblazer (and why chevy has not ackowledged or fixed the problem should be reported and them taken to task). we have checked all of the above, the relay, and then some, our issue also seems to be the fuses are good, lamps, bulbs, connectors etc... but there is found to be no power to the low beam fuses. Any ideas on how to overcome this issue?

I've got an 06 with the same problem. All the fuses and relays are good and still no power to the low beams. An old shade tree told me to have the dimmer switch replaced in the steering column. Wonder if this would repair the problem? I would hate to get into that rats next inside the steering column and it not fix the problem. Anybody else had the repair?

My 2006 trailblazer headlights go out ALL THE TIME! I shouldn't have to get them changed 3 times a year. But I do. I've heard it could be a problem with corroded wires...? Anyway. It's getting really old - and expensive, to replace.

I am having all the same problems with my 2003 tailblazer. Are they not going to do a re-call or what? I am going to find some numbers and try and see why they have not done it yet. I am sick of buying all these light bulbs over and over!!!!

My o6 has the same issue where my low beams will just go out at no giving time, but it does not come back on. at first it was both the bulbs that blown at the same time ,then it was the solidstate "46" and after replacing that... not three days later same crap over. I swaped 45 with 46 out on the highway as it was night time and i was using my low beams and it fried right there...There was no smell of burning wires or any shorts that i or a auto electrician could pick up... any one please... the dealership is the last resort of where i want to spend my $$$???
