Has this happened to anyone?
Got an '02 T-blazer, wife was at a stop light, light turned green, she hit the gas to go, then the engine just shut off! The 'No oil pressure' light came on, no power steering, everything just powered down. She managed to pull into a driveway on the side and it restarted w/no problem and she drove home just fine.
Took it to dealer, they drove it around for about 40 miles and it didn't do it again, hooked it up to computer and said there was no 'code', whatever that means. So bottom line, they don't have a clue whats wrong with it. Fortunately they didn't charge me anything.
Anyone have an idea what this might be?

Same problems on mine. A defective ignition switch was replaced on my 02. It apparently was a known problem and the dealer told the "cure" before they towed the vehicle.

This same thing happened to me today. I was at a stop light for only about 15 seconds when it just shut of. I restared the car and it's been fine since. Does any one know why exactly it does that?

2005 Trail Blazer shifted into reverse while going through a car wash. The motor was on and in nutral. The only way this vehicle can go into reverse is to push on the brake and shift.

2003 trailblazer 4WD LT. I have 72000 miles on it and noticed a pecking noise in the engine. Dealer says it's normal, but I know 4 other people that have one and theirs don't make any noise. It seems to be coming from around #2 cylinder. Does anyone else have this noise?

I've had my 03 Trailblazer with 57000 shut off twice on me in the last week. The first time it happened it finally restarted after I shut the a/c off and I got it off the road and towed to the dealer. It had a P0340 code in the computer, a camshaft sensor malfunction, but the dealership kept it for 2 days, couldn't recreate the problem and said that code was "false" that it wasn't the problem. Now it shut off on me again today, and the dealer has no clue what's wrong with it. I think I'm about to unload this thing, I can't keep driving something that the dealer can't fix and keeps shutting off.

Happened to me the other day with my O2. I was idling at the mailbox. I don't know what causes it, nor do I worry about it. What I do worry about is it going into 4 wheel by itself, whether I'm on a highway going 72 or parked in a lot with the engine running. Who can say? Chevy can't!

This happened to me with a Mercury also. It turned off while I was driving in traffic though. Was the o2 sensor.

This has happened to me twice. All I did both times was retightened it and went down the road not even 2 miles and the light went off.
Although my 2002 has 71000 on it and it has shut off on me at a stop light. Chevy can't figure out what is wrong with it and say there are no codes popping up, but when I go to start it from the cold it constanly almost dies. The lights go real dim and sometimes when I am driving the lights go dim. We changed the battery and that is not it. Any suggestions???

My leased 2004 Trail Blazer EXT with 29,000 miles has had this problem for the past two years and two dealerships have replaced the accelerator pedal sensor twice, the engine controller once and the ignition switch once. The last time the one dealership had the vehicle for a week and was on the tech line with GM and could not fine the problem and gave me back the vehicle without any corrective action (they did clear the code so the warning light would go out). Now the Service Engine Soon light stays on all the time. I am taking it back in next week. I hired a "Lemon" lawyer and GM is lawyers are currently mulling over their options. My lawyer thinks best case I will get out of my lease and worst case get $$ compensation. I formerly worked for GM, but except for my 1994 Geo Prism and my 2000 Saturn I have had nothing but problems with GM vehicles and I have now owned five over the past 17 years. I leased a 2000 Toyota 4-Runner prior to leasing the 2004 Trail Blazer EXT and the only problems I had with it were a stuck door latch and the CD player.

I just purchased a '04 Trailblazer and I drove for a week and the Service Engine Soon light came on and I was told it maybe the gas cap since I just put gas in it the day before. The next week it started act as if was going to shut off when sitting still. The shop finally said it was the fuel injector. I got back put gas in it and the next day the light came on again. I will call them today so that they can get it again. Will let you know what they say this time.

The engine in my Trailblazer will cut out for no reason, especially after an extended highway drive. Maybe 30 miles at 65 mph, get off the freeway and stop and the engine will quit. It did it one time and then again 6 months later. THen two months later. Then once....3 times in a week!. Nothing for several months now. Of course the dealer wants 75$ to check the memory...if there's anything there. What a pain.

I should mention that everytime it cuts out, it starts right back up again. Runs absolutely fine. When it's running......

I have an 02 Trailblazer LT. I only have it for 3 months. I was driving the other day and my service light flashed, and then my reduced engine light came on and the car stopped. This was one week ago. They could not figure out what was wrong. My mechanic just called me with the bad new that I need a new motor. What is wrong with this picture?? I will never buy a Chevy again!! And I really loved this car. Buying Toyota next!!! Has this happened to anyone else, or is mine a lemon??

I have an '02 LTZ Trailblazer. Last week the engine stalled. I pulled over and it restarted fine. No further problems until yesterday. It stalled again and would not restart. I had it towed to the dealer who could also find "no code." He told me it may be the ignition switch. Now when I try to start it, I insert the key and turn to the run position. The tach and speedo needles go crazy for about 5 seconds during which it will not crank. After the needles settle down, it cranks, statrs, and runs fine. Dealer says this confimrms that the ignition switch is having trouble reading the key and needs to be replaced(at $500 plus!)

I have had the "everything just quits problem" several times. Problem is the ignition switch. I have replaced mine three times. They last about a year. Cost $139 installed at an auto electric shop (not at the dealer). Everyone agrees that they should last the life of the vehicle, but I have some problem that eats them up. I don't even ask them to check things out, I just tell them to replace the ignition switch and that cures it for a year or so.

ahhhhh yesss! this happened to me twice this week. Over the summer as well, i replaced the battery and if the a/c was on when i would come to the stop sign, it would power down displaying "no oil pressure." Im pretty sure there is a bug in all of the gm trailblazer because this is a very widespread problem.
