I recently bought a 2005 Tahoe. It came with the single disc CD player, but the CD player wasn't working. I got a GM Envoy Denali 6 disc in dash changer Bose system. I went to the dealer to get it unlocked after I installed it. Now, the volume is screwed up. When I have the volume turned up half way, it is only about 1/3 of the volume I used to get at the same level. I don't want to have to go aftermarket to get great sound, but I can't keep dealing with this problem. Can anyone give me a reason why it is doing this, or, even better would be how to fix it. Thanks.

Yes the problem is that the outputs are low level for a bose amplified sytem will not work with high level speaker systems. You must use a high level radio. :( sorry

i have a 2003 chevy tahoe bought it brand new, alost 6 years old now i expect to come across sum bugs.. and there had been radio issues i have been having. the radio would loose memory presets aswell as the clock on the radio. i was tired of resetting the presets cuz about avery few weeks for sum random reason they erase. plus the buttons are fading away..so i went aftermarket and sure enough that fixs everything... i spent about 200 for a sweet alpine cd player... best part i can play mp3 cds.. dont bother taken it to the dealer. if your warranty is out your most likely to spend more for a factorty radio than and after market one at best buy.... by the way radios ware out like shoes. nothings last forever

Did anyone get an answer to this problem? I am having the same issues. New Radio, same exact model, reprogrammed by the dealer. radio, cd, cassette all work fine, just no sound. Think I checked all applicable fuses but nothing that seems out of order. Please, any solutions.

I have an '03 Z71 Tahoe and it's happened to me, too! The stereo is working... but not the speakers. It happened once before and it fixed itself after a day or two. Well, last night... no music again!

It's strange. The stereo itself seems fine but you get no sound whether it be CD, AM, FM, XM OR OnStar!

I just got the Tahoe yesterday - no manual.

What is the procedure for loading the CDs in the in dash changer? I gues that is what I have - it has Bose speakers and the LED shows CD 1 6. It will not take in a CD and indicates there are no CDs in the unit.

I put a CD in the unit an nithing happens.

Help Please

I think there is a button that says load....press that and wait for the green light and than insert cd

most likely with the sound cutting off is either one of 2 things. Your bose amplifier is bad or there is a bad speaker somewhere grounding it self out and causing the amplifier to cut off. Usually one of those things. The solutions is to replace the amplifier with a factory unit unplug all speaker and test there ohm load. If a bad speaker is found then replace the speaker and it should work normally.

issue was resolved, was simply a fuse. Was the 15 amp fuse.

Which 15 amp fuse? Under hood or on dash?

Exact same thing with my 03 Sub. a car audio installer told me its more likely the bose amp. I'm tring to locate one but it seems the dealership is the only place to get one.

lost my sound today, to my stereo, my blinkers, my alarm activation, everything... it was fine last night, just didn't turn on this morning. is it the same fuse for all that stuff? i have a 2009 tahoe, and i really don't want to go sit at the dealer, but i will, as long as i know what the problem is before i go.
