I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer. The front right caliper locks up and the rotor has small cracks and hot spots. The GM dealer is stating that I ride my brakes. I have owned other chevy's car and a van and never had a problem at all with the brake or any other parts. My brakes can last from 2 to 3 years. I had my brakes done at Firestone in Las Vegas, Nevada. The service manager is stating that it is a manufacture problem with the caliper and the rotor. The dealership is stating that it is the ceramic brake pads. Know tell me why would one side have the probelm then the other side. Wouldn't both sides have the same problem.

I had horror brakes when I bought my Denali 2000..bad maintenance..I changed rotors and pads to Bendix..resanded rear drum pads..cleaned rear drums and changed brake fluid to dot 4...braked like a car now.. Had to carefully blend in pads and rotors for 200 miles...always downshift to 3rd and even 2nd downhill..save yr brakes as much as you can and they will serve u right..remember the weight of your trucks..they're heavy!!!good luck..

I have a 2002 SLE, 2 wheel drive, at 91,000 and he dealer just told me that my ABS computer went out causing some clicking sounds. Anybody else? at what milage is this common? Maddog One wrote: I have a 2002 Model and have always had the feel of soft braking in the truck. I had to replace four rotors and pads at 42K miles. Had brakes redone and needed "fixing" after another 12K miles which was done at no cost, but the problem I believe is still there. As an engineer, and mfg. "guy" my process sense is telling me that this is a much larger issue than just one vechile. Does anyone out there have any suggestions to correct and fix the problem for good? Please advise, thanks in advance

I have an 07 Avalanche 4x4 1500 series, I have had two major issues with this vehical first the front right brake locked up going down the hi-way wrecking the tire and rim at 3800KM (2350 Miles)the second was at 5000KM (3100 Miles) came out of the store from shopping jumped into the vehical engine cranked over maybe three times and seazed solid. Both times GM Canada and the dealer before even looking for the problem ask if I have contacted my insurance yet. Is this GM's idea of warranty or are they trying to avoid a recall. I see why Chevy warned us earlier in their adverizements LIKE A ROCK (Left sitting on the road like a rock) I see why they claim to have the best warranty in the business they let your insurance to do it for them

I have a 2002 gmc 1500. The problem is the clearance between the rear brake caliper and rim. Small rocks get in and cut the rim. Poor design, and gm has ignored the problem.

Hi , people I'm in Brisbane Australia and I need help with my Suburban brakes . I have just recently purchased a 1999 v/8 , 4wd , lwb auto s/wag done 130,000k . Suburbans here in Australia are very rare and thats why I'm looking for help on line . The brakes are terrible , the pedal hits the floor , I have renewed front pads , rear shoes , fitted a master cylinder kit and bleed the hydraulic system for very little improvement if any at all . Checked the abs , which I hate . I'm now thinking of buying a Master Cylinder with a bigger bore to try and overcome the problem . This vehicle is an accident waiting to happen , I would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have on this problem . My mail address is barry_lyddiard@yahoo.com.au

New update on Denali 2000 brakes..Had to revert to ac delco front pads,as everything else was squeeling..New rear drums and pads[ bendix], new rear spring sets for drums..Revert to DOT 3 brake fluid V DOT 4..Made a big difference..Dot 3 works better with rear drums..Resigned to the fact that brakes will never be perfect..145,000 miles..wear and tear on the system..But brakes are 90% OK now..It is a truck after all..We have to brake early..and downshift when we can ...Good Luck..

New update re Denali 2000 brakes...Changed both front ABS sensors thinking it will cure the problem of sudden braking at low speeds..It didn't. When the brakes are hot, if you hit the pedal at slow speeds, you will hit the screen and the ABS will activate..Such as in emergency braking..Any ideas where to look? pads and drums are new all round,as well as brake fluid..most puzzling..what to do in order not to have brake lock up at low speeds ? that's the million dollar question..Appreciate any help...

I have and 03 1500 avelanche 18" wheels and 33-12.5, never a brake prob., but 99-04 heavier trucks brakes seem to heat up and warp the rotors, many friends have went to slotted and brakes are perfect now

I don't know if a Denali has the same transfer case as my 2003 Silverado 2500HD. But my transfer case was recently wrecked by a design flaw. Internally a clip that holds a pump on, breaks and wears a hole (tiny) in your transfer case. Your fluid drains out slowly and eventually your transfer case overheats and fails.$2100 to fix. Google "transfer case pump rub"

Found out that Bendix makes brakes in China as well..That's why mine were always squeeling when hot and wore out in 3 months..Found some OEM Bendix rear shoes, reground the drums that were being damaged by the chinese shoes and now I can honestly say that the braking system operates as it should...But for how long??/

94 Yukon, added a plow and over heats on hiway now. Do the 1500 gmc pick ups with plows have a different set up to allow air to be directed to the radiator front from underneath the bumper?

Also the rear brakes may not be adjusted up. Other than self adjuster no way to adjust other than new drums so you can adjust up close before refitting the brake drum. steve in MA, USA
