I'm have a problem with the air conditioner on my 1997 Chevy suburban. It shows that the freon is at 35 psi when running with fan at high speed, but the clutch doesn't activate. Is there a sensor switch that may cause this problem? I have checked the fuse relay for the A/C and it appears to be good. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thank you
Robert

I have a 1999 Suburban. At first I taught I had a bad bulb, because when I turned on my turn signal to the right, I got a rapid signal. The bulb is fine, but I get no signal or brake light on the right rear. The front signal does flash, but very fast. Also, the parking lights work fine. Does anyone have a clue, because I don't.
Thanks, David

I am having similar problems with my 1988 Suburban. The quality of the electrical components is very poor. The headlite switch will not brighten the lights. Occasionally when attempting to switch to bright headlights, the lights will go off. Neither the tail lights or turn signals will work. Voltmeter indicates no power crossing fuse contact points. The driver's side power window switch is inoperable. The power tailgate window is inoperable. Quality was a joke at GM when these things were built. Has anyone done a manual window conversion on these vehicles? I think I can install a foot switch for the bright lights and fix this. Anyone have any ideas on the tail lights and turn signals? Thanks

If you have tilt steering, check your Multifunction Switch (turn signal). The wires will fatigue after so many oscillations. Remove the lower steering column cowl and inspect the wires below the switch.

Thanks, David I had this happen on the left brake/turn signal on my 99 Sub. Turns out there was some corrosion or contaminants on the electrical contacts at the junction between wiring plug and plug-in point on the light housing. I scraped the contacts on both plug and light housing and it fixed it.

I have a 1999 Suburban and just yesterday morning I went to turn my headlights on and nothing. The daytime headlights work just fine. All of the running lights, hazzard and turn signal lights work fine as well. I ended up going to work using the middle position on the switch so that I was using my daytime headlights along with the normal running lights. I have 65K miles and have not experienced this problem before. My first thought was that the switch was bad since both regular headlights were not operating. Checked with the parts guys at two Chevy dealers. They both thought the same thing and that there wasn't any relays that could be bad. So, based on their experience, I bought a new switch at a cost of $81.14. No go! I checked the wiring the best that I could and will have to end up at the dealer. I can only imagine this is going to cost some bucks to diagnose a wiring problem! I'm hoping it turns out to be something simple. Other threads talk of intermittant on/off cycles related to the warning buzzer and interior lights. I have only had the warning buzzer cut in-and-out while the door is open and the keys are in the ignition. Not a big deal, but its really annoying until the door is closed.

Group, I have a 99 Suburban and the DRLs will not come on. This style uses the lowbeams as the DRLs. The dash indicator is on. The bulbs are fine (Low beams work), I have switched the chip under the dash, I have switched the relay. The switch on the emergency brake is good. What am I missing? Anyone else have this problem?

There's a fuse (#15?) in the fuse box at the driver's end of the instrument panel. Check that.

We have a '99 with about 72k. We had problems with trying to turn the brights on. Lights would turn off completely. For some reason that problem went away. Now, since we don't drive it very often, maybe once a week, it won't start. Something is draining the battery. Took it in and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I'd be interested in hearing what the dealers find. Please post the results. thanks

I have a 1993 chevy Blazer Full size and my brake lights wont work. The parking lights work, but the hazards dont. I went and bought the Multi Function Switch but i havent put it on yet. My other option for this problem would be the lever were the brake pedal itself is. Its a gray box and when it makes contact to turn the brake lights on, but im not sure if any one could help me it would be great.

Karen I am having a similar problem with my 2002 chevy blazer. When a turn signal is on, the parking lights flash on both sides along with my radio and dash lights. And when pushing the brake the signal stops and the dash lights go out. After checking/ cleaning connections directly from the battery terminals. The problem went away. Good luck I know how annoying that is!!

I have a 99 Chevy Blazer. My driver side brake light wouldn't light when I pressed the brake, but would still light up when the head/running lights were on. I read the post by damoose and disassembled the dash under the column. I played a bit with the wires and tadaa the light kicked on. I didn't see any fraying but will keep an eye on the light. Next time I bring it into the shop I'll have em check the wires more throughly. One thing to note. About a year ago and for several months I started to hear the directional noise click randomly and then for a few months I heard some electrical popping from under the passenger side dash. A shop tried telling me there was a relay under the passenger side which I have so far found to be false. I think that was the wires under the driver side were fraying, causing the ding speaker on the other side to pop and hiss. It stopped a lil while ago and thats when we noticed my light went out. Thanks damoose for the heads up.
