I have the same issue going on in my 1993 Suburban.
I think the issue is not the radio, but the equalizer in the dash to the right of the radio. I am going to look into that.

I also have same issue. It has been 1:00 in my truck for quite some time. I do not have the graphic equalizer in mine, just the cassette player. My truck is a 92 C3500 Crew Cab truck. Love the truck, but miss the radio.

I have the same problem 1993 1500. Could it be the AMP/Tuner box I'v been reading about? It's supposed to be behind the ask tray, silver box the ant plugs into? Has anyone tried this?

sent my receiver (The silver box above the gas pedal) to these guys

Factory Car Stereo Repair, Inc.
1987 Corporate Square Suite 159
Longwood, FL. 32750

they fixed it and sent it back for about 150.00

1 year warranty it now works great

Just replacing from a junk yard may or may not get you a working part. The receivers were notorious for failure

I too have this problem on my 1992 Silverado P/K. I am willing to pay the $150 to have a radio in it that works again, but it really seems like GM should have a free replacement since this is obviously a flaw and regardless of the age of these trucks, they should be repaired by GM.

I guess it wouldn't be such a drag if it wasn't for the fact that unless you pay the $150 for the replacement, your other option is to replace the stereo system with an aftermarket unit in the center of the dash, but have to live with the wrong time or station on the display.

Carl. I believe there are 2 fuses in this system. 1 in the fuse box panel, and 1 actually plugging into the back of the radio itself.

I have a 2007 Silverado with wiring problems. First we had no seat belt reminder tone and only front radio speakers working. Recently all the speakers have quite and no still no seat belt tone.

You can hear the radio its very low and sounds like an old transistor.
The problem seems to be connected to the passenger door, occasionally when shut the problem is fixed for a short time.

I have been behind the glove box wiggling the wiring harnesses with the radio on to see if I can hear a loose connection, but could not hear any change.

My son had the same problem with his even after installing a different one. We found out that the orange wire that supplies constant power to the radio for memory was broken. All we did was run a new wire and it worked fine. It hookes directly to the 10 amp radio fuse.

Thanks Kvb
Did your Son's radio work? With the speakers cutting in and out?

The old one that was in there didn't, so he went and bought a dash mount radio. It wouldn't work either so that's when we checked the power supply.
