They told me it was a resistor in the switch. Each speed has it's own resistor. Mine went out on one speed, then another and later all speeds went out.

1999 - my drivers side automatic window doesn't work. I don't know whether it's the motor or the regulator/actuator is out. How do I go about checking them both to see which one to replace?

I would like remove the stock original mirror on my 04 Silverado and it has an Air Bag indicator - I do not know the implications of removing it, or of what the indicator really does... I would like to replace with Temp/Comp Mirror any suggestions

On a 2002 the blower resistor is located on the HVAC assembly near the blower motor. Remove the cover on the bottom of the HVAC assembly by loosening the three 7 mm hex head screws. Once the cover is removed, if you were sitting in the passenger seat, your right foot would point to the blower resistor. The wiring harness uses a connector that has seven wires in an in-line configuration. The wire colors are tan, yellow, purple, light blue, black, orange and orange. When mounted in the HVAC assembly, the actual resistors are in the blower's air flow, to help dissipate heat. Hope this helps.

DAN wrote: On my 2003 silverado, the first speed on my fan fan control does not work. does anyone know why check the resistor block for an open coil. it may have several coils. it may be located on/into the a/c-heater air plenum engine side of firewall. also check for battery volage at each terminal relative to which fan speed position is selected.

chevy silverado wrote: i'd like to know if all, none, or only some of the '96 silverados came out with daytime running lights ? Well usely that pertanes to what month year your truck was made. I think in early 96 models witch are manufactured around June of 1995 its was consider an option or up grade and the wire harness where setup add this option. By mid 96 models that would be the all the model made from Jan of 1996 they mostly all came with the lights installed. Dont quote me on it but that perty much the formate Unless of course you or some ordered a plane basic truck too.
