Lost Reverse today and shifts from first really hard.. Looking for any ideas and maybe what the price might be around for a rebuild.. Any help greatly appreciated!!!

i had mine rebuilt by my uncle for just cost of the parts plus a hundred for him. he put a performance shift kit in it and it ran me 700 total. if you find a shade tree mechanic to take it out and put it in plus rebuild it, i wouldnt pay more than 1200 firm.
