Am looking at a new 4x4 Silverado or Sierra and was wondering if anyone can comment on their highway mileage with the Active Fuel Mgmt technology. The dealers are saying the trucks are getting in the low 20's mpg. Also, can you notice when the engine is shutting down/starting up the cylinders? Many thanks, Donny from VA

The fuel management system is a joke. My 1998 got just as good milage. Yes you can tell when it engauges and dis-engauges. What ever you do dont put exhaust under it, not only will you feel it but hear it as well. Its very annoying.
Besides that the truck is ok. If I were you I would go ahead and get the bigger engine. |
