I would like to put a LS1 V8 in my 1998 Chevrolet S10. I don't know how much it costs, what I will need besides an engine, or where I could find all the parts for a reasonable price. Can anyone help me out?

you will need a motor could cost anywhere from 1k to 3k depending on if new or used. you will need a new bellhousing and tranny if you dont already have a t5 (or other) that will work. you will need all of your wiring harness. full exhaust system, maybe a beefier third member. denedning on if you have enough room for the small block you may have to do some remodeling under the hood to open up more space meaning probably an aluminiun radiator and electric fan. thats just a start. thats a big project

do you have to do a wiring harness change in a 1998 s10 2.2 swap to a small block or can you just mod????

its pricey but not that hard but you will have to take a hammer to the firewall to get it to fit

Well Ive got a 88 with a built 350. Its not that hard. Stick with a carb. Fuel injection is tricky. I got a bad ass long block for 1,000 and just added to it. The project will dollar you to death. My budget was 3,000. I ended up spending 4,000. Fun to drive. Just make sure you change out that 4 cylinder suspension in the front. It wont work well with the weight. Get the 4.3 springs. for more info email me at [email protected]
