I have a 91 sonoma, 4.3. When I start the truck it idles high then settles down after a bit, but feels like it jars a little when down shifting on the road. I have a gas leak around my sending unit. No holes in the tank. Could this be the problem? Also e break light stays on when completely released. Just need the truck to get me to November when I ship out. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you

Have a 93 Chevy S10 4.3L.
Idles rough and has drops pressure to 0 at stop when engine is warm. Pressure at 20 (should be 40) on highway/streets when engine is warm.
Pressure fine when engine is cold.
Just changed fuel pump and filter (pump died). Above problems however existed before and after new pump and filter.
Any thoughts?

Recently bought a '91 Chevy S-10 with 4.3L & EFI carb. It has a VERY high idle and there is no access to the idle screw (it's "adjustment end" is a blank plug vice a screw head). How does one idle these baby's down?[Otherwise it runs reasonably well.] HELP an old fella please!

I have a 91 chevy S-10 blazer when at idle in gear it seems to idle hard and makes the vehicle vibrate. It does not stall or go up and down on the idle. Does anyone have any idea what it might be? The engine is a 4.3 V-6 automatic 2 wheel drive with 133,000 miles.

Thanks Joe

I have a 91 s10 with a 4.3 vortec in it, I recently had it rebuilt and I bought a refabed distributer from oreillys and put in there when I put the motor in, it wants to s die from time to time at a red light and I have to hold the gas down to start it back up. I've unplugged the wire like I'm supposed to when doing timing and when I get the marks to line up it runs terrible and I plug it back up the truck won't start at all so I have to do it by sound just to get it to run can it be that distributer?and can some one help?

I have a 95 S10 4x4 4.3 Vortec TBI will not idle well for long, and will not take throttle. Had it to GM garage...joke..they wanted to plug and play on my dime. I borrowed a Snapon MT 2500 scanner and the only code is a 44 lean exaust. I changed the MAP (new),the IAC (junk yard),EGR (junk yard)TPS (new) fuel filter, cleaned the injectors and TB. New TB gasket, cap rotor. The strange thing is if I start it and remove the wire from the TPS it will lock on an idle of about 1500 rpm and take all kinds of throttle including WOT. I'm afraid to try and drive it this way, but think it will go. I know the PCM goes into a limp mode if anything in that circuit goes and will restore some normal function, which it does. So I'm left with the question why will it run (limp)and not normal (with everything hooked up)? This has me crazy. If I listened to half the people who should know, I'd have $500 worth of parts that didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions?

I'm having an issue where my S10 fights to stay alive while idling. Some days are worse then others, but basically the truck alternates between high and low idling very often. Also, a distinct hissing sound is constantly heard through the vents except when the rate of change in accelerating increases. I'm thinking its a vaccum leak issue. What is the best way to test for vaccum leaks? Other suggestions?
while the moter is cool start and spay starting fluid or brake kleen on vac hoses if engine revs when certain hose is hit leak is near that area just dont blow your self up &make sher moter has not been running more than 2-3 min risk of fire!!!!!!!!!!

it seems we all have the same problems with our 4.3 89 iv rebiult body with larger injectors blocked filed egr with grinder .045mm with i temp fiber tape to fill gaps. lower temp sensor range from a honda passport opens at 180 instead of 210. replaced ecu with iroc camaro ecu for a 305. replace all vacuum lines with high temp silcon race tubing from tranfer case to accuater manifold eats anything else high temp drag wires for the plugs off 350 wires are wires no less than 9mm dia. for best results. tpi out of a 305. just the sensor takes some mod to get it to fit with a drill and drimel. and for cat problem use a cat from a 2500 handles higher flow and 3 inch exaust. that cured all my problems with mine idels at 800 and boosts the efi and mileage at 22 in town 28 on highway

If you realy want to get seroius power us domed pistions for a 350 and after market balancer bolt on. 4.3 is a 350 with two less pistions all the parts will fit plus there cheaper!!!
