i have a 94 silv 309000 ben driveing it 10 yrs runs great at idle runs great as long as im on the gas it has plenty of powewr but when i reach the speed i want and hold the pedal in one spot it starts surging as if its runing out of gas but if i push the gas pedal it goes just fine just cant keep pedal in one spot any ideas done change fuel filter and air filter plugs wires cap

rpm is low,oil pressure too. does not sputter,miss or hesitates.im more curious at low rpm.. any ideas???

I have a 94 Z-71 1500 4x4 with a 350 auto trans. When i first start it it runs rough and backfires out the exhaust for about a min and clears up and runs fine and the the check engine light icomes on.. Just changed with remaned distrubuter cause the old one kept burning out ingnition modules.anyone know why its doing this im tired of putting money into things that dont fix it.
Rob in IN doing the same thing yours is doing. Have you figured it out?

Rob mine is doing the exact same. Just put new ditributer in because was buring out ingnition control modules every 2 months, then this same problem. as soon as it sstarts running right about one minute the check engine light comes on. Dont know the code yet. What have you figured out.

Hey Rob Got it! Vacuum line leak to the mass air flow senser. Fixed it instantly and check engine light went out.

I have a 1994 chevy truck 3500, has 5.7 with TBI. truck run good & got good gas miliage. quit running found pin on dist. gear broken, put in a new dist. now it surges & get poor gas miliage. what could be the problem

There should be a vacuum diagram on the fan shroud, if not then it should be over the passenger valve cover on the side of the tbi unit. Hope this helps

i have a 1989 k1500 with a 94 5.7 350 engine i have been having to issues with sputtering from a stop sign and i changed the egr valve then when i tried starting the engine it had a rough idle and one of the spark plug wires were sparking against a metal surface but whn i put it into reverse it barely started moving then the oil pressure gage went crazy and it cut the engine out anyone have any ideas

My 1994 getting to much gas and it dies when you let oof the gas I changed the tps and rebult the tbi new plugs and wires can someone help please.

Check to see if there's gas in the oil. Take out the dipstick and place a flame from a lighter or match to it. If the oil on the dipstick ignites your fuel pump may be leaking internally. Pure oil should just boil not burn. Gasoline will thin the oil and create "blow-by". Engine runs fine during warm up when RPM's are high but as soon as the engine's warm it will miss fire as the compression drops due to blow by. If there's gas in the oil, replace fuel pump, oil & filter.

Ok, We experienced this too, here is the Absolute solution,
CHECK THE EXHAUST DONUTS for Leaks, Massive Air is being allowed into the Exhaust, Telling the OXY sensor TOO LEAN ADD FUEL,

i have a 94 silverado 350 tbi and it idles fine but when you take off from a stop it bogs down and almost dies unless you let off the gas. once you once it gets past 1800 rpms it takes off and drives fine. changed fuel filter and distributer cap and still does the same thing. any sugestions please??

Hey i have a chevy 350 94 and i have had this problem an i put 1900 dallors in the motor and then replaced the battery termenals no joke the termenals was the problem and it fixed my miss because it was not getting good ground.
