I purchased a 92 Lumina just before the winter of 2006 I 'm just wondering if the car is going to eat a hole in my wallet, as well it comes to repair time... I need to fix the car abit right now but is there anything I should watch for?

I can be reached dim-shady@hotmail.com

Thank you

I've had one for about two years now... a 93. So far I've had to get my front and rear rotors replaced, I've had the hose to my transmission fluid replaced, and the serpentine belt just crapped out on me yesterday. When I had my rotors replaced the mechanic couldn't get one of the calipers back on, and I had to pay for a new one. My bf's mechanic told me that that was something to watch out for, he says he probably would have been able to get it back on, so make sure if you have to get the rotors changed, you find someone who knows about the caliper problem.

However, I've only had one problem I'd consider major. I'll get to that in a minute. There hasn't been anything I've had to shell out huge amounts of money for. The brake job was kind of expensive because of the caliper problem.

I think the serpentine will be cheap to replace; I've read that it is.

The biggest problem; however, is with the power steering. It screwed up on me after about eight months or so. I had to press the gas to turn the wheel when I was trying to park. This is the only major problem I've had but I haven't gotten it worked on because I think it will be kind of expensive.

But the thing is, I bought it from my uncle, and he hardly ever drove the thing. So it went from hardly being used for about eleven years to being driven every day, including me driving 45 to my hometown and 45 minutes back every weekend. It still had the orignal parts on it. So I see a lot of this as just maintenance that was overdue, but never got done because it wasn't driven enough for any problems to be noticed.

We'll see how this belt thing goes though.

i have a 1992 lumina z34 and the power steering has a leakin one of the hoses and i dont know which one and i was wondering if anyone know how much this would cost me to have a shop fix it
Also my brake pedle has a huge amout of pressure and it dousent stop fast cause of it actually it stops very poorly and i just got the car and i found out that the bleft outside brake pad is missing completly and i was wonderin if that could cause the barkes to be so bad and one more thing when the car shifts in to 4th gear and the rpm goes to like 2 grand or less the engine kinda misses and stutteres a little othere than that the car runns great. so if anyone has any ideas you can contact me at Pavothegreat@hotmail.com

thank you

My 1993 took my wallet and destroyed it. Anything from pumps to a transmission plus a fuel line. the only reason I traded it in was the transmission. I had full intentions of replacing the passenger door. but do not make the same mistake i did and get rid of it. keep that car once everything gets fixed you will have a great car. I still regret getting rid of mine.

One reason why a car would shake is beacase the u-joints are bad...my brother has a truck that shook when it went 35 but then after like 40 it ran great... so i would check your u-joint
I am also satisfied with my lumina haha:)

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Aries

There's a lot of tension in the air, with certain people poised to spit the dummy, as Mars turns retrograde in your fifth house of romance, children and speculation. Confrontations are likely. If these are nothing to do with you and you just happen to be directly in the firing line, your best bet is to make yourself scarce. But if you are responsible for their outraged feelings then you need to face the music, otherwise things will only get worse.
