Check the battery rundown protection relay. Do the interior lights flicker?

I have a 2003 Impala. The door locks started clicking on and off, the security light was on and the head lights were turning on and off. We took it to a GM dealer and they said it was Body Control Module. They replaced it and the car ran great for a year and a half. It is now doing it all over again, only this time it won't start. I really don't want to pay $500 again to have the Body Control Module replaced again. Any suggestions on what to do now?

Order your own BCM for about $125 and find a local shop to program it for you for about $100-125. Also, make sure you order the CORRECT AC Delco module for your vehicle and make sure it is BRAND NEW. You can get the correct AC DELCO part number for your vehicle by calling AC DELCO with your VIN NUMBER at 1-800-ACDelco (1-800-223-3526) or go to http://www.acdelco.com

You can also clean the terminals on your fuses that are BCM related inside the driver's side fuse box. Try this first before replacing the BCM.

It seems or sounds like the neutral safety switch OR the electrical switch for the rear back-up light found in the area of the steering column.

Our 2003 Chevy Impala had a situation about 3 weeks ago with the doors ajar security light flashing. The lights and radio and everything would flicker and it made a loud dinging noise. Since then this has happened several times but you could always drive it and after about 20 mins it would go off. This week when we try to start the car it won't turn on. I didn't think it was a battery issue because the lights and radio would still work. We tried solutions for passcode problems but the security light never stops flashing, regardless of how long we leave it on with the key in the on position. Today we bought a new battery and car starts but security light is still on. Any help greatly appreciated.

It could be the Body Control Module(BCM)

Thank you very much for your response. Is there a DIY fix for that or are we looking at big costs with a garage?

Sorry just read your earlier post explaining what to do. Just realized what a BCM is and we don't have one. This is an ex cop car that we bought 2 years ago at auction and we have never had the remote control for it. Could it still be a BCM electrical problem?

Every Impala has a BCM. Typically, they actup during the hottest part of the day. When it is cooler in the evenings, the cartypicallystarts and runs fine.

Jus Google Impala BCM problem and you'll see a myriad of electrical problems associated with this component.

Call AC DELCO @ acdelco.com and give them your VIN# and they will give you the part number for the BCM for your car. You can search the internet for the best price. I paid $125 for the BCM & a local shop programmed it for $110.

Buty look through these links first to. See if this. Is actually your problem:

It could be the BCM. But start with cleaning the fuses located behind the panel located on the left side of the dash.

Also this is a post every single Chevy owner should read as GM is very aware of this issue.
Very first post then the third post, which is his followup post...http://www.automotivehe lper.com/topic213098.htm.tt

Start with the power window switch cluster and the fuse box fuses.

Now I know I'm not completely crazy. We've already dealt with the No-Start with our 2003 Impala of course our mechanic didn't listen to us after many tow's and new computer they finally did the soldering of the wires...that was 2yrs ago and we have the no start back again as well as another wee glitch.
Hope someone can help with this: Driving down the road and all of a sudden all the 'red' hazard lights come on,(seat belt, air bag, emergency brake and battery) sometimes we even get a buzzing noise from the front of the dash. I do not lose power while driving, but the fuel gauge will go up and down with the red lights. Also, sometimes when turning your signal light on, the lights and noise will happen but the signal light doesn't work.
HELP!!!
Many thanks,
Chris

A customer at a shop I started to work at complained about a similar problem after having his car serviced to replace the exhaust manifold gasket. The interior dashboard lights sometimes come on, the tail lights, reverse light, and license plate lights will not work but the low and high beams do. He does have a custom head unit and amp that won't run either. He is pissed because he got a ticket for the tail lights after his car was done, and from what I know his impala has been in and out of this shop for 3 months. he also mentioned that at the dealer they have replaced the BCM and checked his started. i don't know who messed up but it's an electrical problem for sure. Any ideas? If you need more info ask me. Thanks
