Karen - NJ wrote: I have a 2000 Cheve Impala that continues to stall on me - it could be on a major highway doing 65 or on a side road doing 45. It stalls with a full tank of gas, half tank and 1/4 tank. There isn't anything to pinpoint the problem. I have had it at 2 seperate mechanics - it happened to them where they were able to put it on the computer where it said everything was fine. This car is starting to cost me a small fortune. Has this happened to anyone? Sounds like your problem is related to your fuel pump. You can try a new fuel filter first.

Has anyone ever thought about a class action suit against Chevrolet for all the not starting problems? So many has spent so much money on replacing bcm, pcm, key switch and key switch cylinder and the cars still will not start. I loved my Monte when I bought it, but have come to hate it now. I hope someone will consider a class action suite. Chevrolet needs to own up to this very serious and wide spread problem.

Adam told you about cutting the yellow wire on the ignition switch. Did you try it and did it work? This waiting for 30 mins to go somewhere is getting old... stringbander wrote: Let me save everyone some time and money. I have an '01 Monte Carlo SS. Initially I had some kind of problem with a battery terminal bolt and the car not starting. After much disconnecting and connecting of the battery, and finally letting the car sit over night without a battery, I got a new battery and terminal bolts. But the car would not start. Everything had power, but the starter would not even click. The "SECURITY" light would flash, indicating a problem. I got the following procedure from a very knowlegeable technician. Here is what you do: Do this procedure three times in succession. 1. Turn the ignition on and try to start it leaving it in the on position for 10 minutes. 2. After the 10 minutes -- by which time in my case the security light was solid rather than flashing -- turn the ignition off and wait 30 seconds. 3. Repeat step 1 & 2 -- turn it on, leave it on for 10 minutes, then off for 30 seconds. After the third time through this procedure, the car should start. Mine did!

"My 2002 Chevy Impala has 91,000 miles. The battery light flashes then the security light comes on and the radio has red locked sign. Then it says take to service soon." I'm having the same issue with my 03 impala. Its not the BCM (changed it). Anyone have any ideas?

DW- Bronx-NY wrote: Hello, I have a 2000 Impala LS 3.8 VL. It was brought from a private owner at 40,000 miles. It was having problems accelerating by 60,000 miles. Got it checked out and got multiple tranny codes, p1811, p1860. Wanted $1600 to fix, No way!. Ended up buying a tranny from a junkyard, taking a chance, got it checked out afterwards and got the same codes along with engine misfiring code p0300, p0730 for problems shifting.. The vehicle is currently shaking as result of misfire and i don't even know if my tranny is good. Is it possible the computer codes have to be reset as far as the transmission? And how can i stop an engine misfire at low cost to me. Somebody, please provide some insight on a possible solution. This car has other problems, but I'll be here all day. Help! had same promblem changed wires and plugs one faulty plug which is uaually the 3 plug in the frount middle of the engine seems to be a major promblem this caused the engine lite to stay on and cause a major shaking and low increase in power
