i have 2001 impala LS. i want to order a new key and remote for the car just as a back up?.. can i do it at any key shop or should i go to the dealer?.. and how much will it aproximately cost??

You should be able to get one from a Chevrolet Dealer. That's what I did. It just required the VIN, registration, and my license as information. It only cost me about $10, too.

I had to pay $50 for the remote and $40 to have it programmed and then $7 for each key.
