Power door locks

My 2006 HHR started having door lock issues shortly after it pulled a code for engine temperature issues. While researching the possible cause for the engine temppissue ( it was the thermostat) one of the forums or an info site said that the engine temp issue if not repaired ASAP would cause issues in the ECM or BCM that would affect the door locks. The problems have gotten worse over time. At first some of the locks worked, then less, and more less. It now takes a minute to unlock the passenger door with the key FOB, and thats about the only door I can unlock. Any thoughts?

Faulty ignition on 2006 cobalt causing car to stall and even stop. Total loss of power while driving very scary, now electric door locks are locking and unlocking on their own are the two prnblems related? Does anyone else have this happening?
