What if I already had the blend air door fixed and I paid for it? Took it to my mechanic in 2012 and bought the new door from Chevy dealer. Will i get reimbursed for fixing it?

Dorman has a repair kit to (less costly ) to fix the problem
You do NOT have to totaly disassamble the dashboard
Check out the repair kit on dormanproducts.com
It is a two person job still
Saved me about $1000.00 dollars
Hope you will at least check this solution out

Go to " http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchRes... ; and click on Service Bulletins. Look for Service Bulletin No.: SB-11135. There is an associated document (a letter from GM) that you can take to your local dealer and they will repair this AT NO COST TO THE OWNER. I was just at the dealer and they honored this without giving me any hassle. This saved me about $1300!!!!!!!

My '06 Equinox has the same problem...heater blows cold air. Took it in to GM dealer 2 or 3 years ago and they said they fixed it, but whatever they did, did not fix the problem. I took it in last week again and they said that they already did what the service bulletin said to do, but went ahead & re-did it, and the heater still does not work and they say it's gonna cost me $1085 to fix it. Is this not GM's problem? Why would I need to pay for this beings there's 100's or 1,000's of other '06 Equinox owners with the same problem??!!!

Guys I am currently having this same issue. I have had struts and mounts replaced twice, engine, catalytic converter, both front window motors are blown, several oil leaks, a ton of suspension work and the list goes on. I have redone this vehicle. Bad purchase. It's almost paid for and I'm going to put it up for sale. Invested way too much money and it's still not fixed.

You can get reimbursed. I took my receipt to a local Chevy dealer and they cut me a check. It was three years after I had it fixed.

As follow-up, below is my post from Dec 2012....when I picked up the vehicle I noted that the service technician didnít leave the heat setting to the full open position (from what Iíve read, this puts too much pressure on the hinge)Ö.anyway, 2 years in and I have never put it to the final max position, just one away from it and have had no problems since Ė donít crank it all the way is the lesson I gotÖ.but at least the fix was free.

**GM has put out a service bulletin regarding this problem (#11135). I called 1-800-263-3777 and spoke with Chantal. They didn't offer anything until I quoted the bulletin number 11135 and the rest was magic. She called the local GM dealer and connected me through to the service department - I booked an appointment for 8am Friday - job was done around 4pm the same day - all NO CHARGE to me.**

This extended warranty applies to all owners until 2016 or 193,000km

I have a 06 equinox and mine is blowing cold air and over heating! I keep getting different stories on what's really going on. I've changed the thermostat twice now. When it over heats you can hear the coolant bubbling. The garage now us saying thermostat again or they have to do a pressure test to see if there is a leak. That will cost 44 just for the pressure test and if it's the water pump then its another 300!!! Really just had it inspected at this same garage now this!! Doesn't sound right to me can anyone help? It has 85000 miles.

I have 08 and i have same problem after my car was over heating last spring. Took it to dealer after we changed temp gage that was not problem. They found that problem cost over 1000.00 to repair. Got vehicle back and my vents were not working right and now winter is here and it is freezing weather heat doesn't work. Recall is in order for this problem plus for head light bulbs blowing all the time. Tired of putting lots of money in this vehicle and always another problem after another
