Add me to the list my 2006 Equinox started blowing cold air 12/21/2010. Dealer offered me some relief at half repair cost as a GM courtesy progrsm!!! But what happens if they foul up the repair?? I am not happy afeter seeing all the problems others are having with their loss of heat.

our equinox is blowing cold unless we are driving.then it gets warm. We recently replaced the hub on the right front. The breaks sound terrible. Have replaced pads and turned rotors. The worst vehicle we've ever had.

well i'm unhappy to say that i thought we got a bargain buying a 2006 equinox, yesterday for my daughter.the only issue with the vehicle was the heat did not work, soo the dealer began telling me i could get the heater fixed for as low as 20 dollars no higher than 200,sooo when i was tryin to make him understand that my husband knew bascilly what the real cost of fixing the heat would roughly b we were trying to get them to cum down on the cost, but they wouldn't budge.Still kept convincing me we have a great deal, and i regret pushing my husband into getting it.He was not happy about it.

Same problem with my 2006 Equinox. The heat/Cold air blend door broken and only cold air blowing. I have read the repair instructions and see why GM is reluctant to fix it at 8 hrs labor!
This is my first "patriotic" buy, trying to be an american. Needles to say I will not purchase a GM again. Back to Honda forever!!

There is a video of it on You tube. There may be a link in some of the other posts, if you want to go thru it. The you tube guy was an mechanic, and it still was a chore for him. The biggest thing was getting everything back together and not create another problem. There are airbadgs things involved once you start taking the dash off.. good luck

I had coolant leaking all summer and my AC worked fine, they kept telling me it was the thermostat and the cap on the coolant tank, so I replaced all of that and now its winter of course and its still leaking. After 4 times they finally figured out its the heater core and it costs at least 800 to fix, mine also overheats all the time with coolant in the tank the temperature gage is all over the place. This car is nothing but problems.

Our 2006 Torrent - same heater problem - over $850 to fix. Told us that something like this was very rare. "these parts just don't go bad" I really didn't start to investigate until I saw an ad in the paper for a 2006 Equinox really cheap "needs heater work" No wonder it was so cheap. I went on GM's website and sent an email. Maybe everyone that has this problem should do the same thing. GM needs to quit ignoring the problem and reimburse a lot of people for the money they forked out.

I'm really angry that, all of the above are being totally ignored, as if "we have your money now', an to heck with you ! My 06 Equinox has been an totally pain , from assembly to quality of materials! For all those with heater probllems , that's how mines started! Now I need a 1500.00 dolllar job or a 5200.00 dollar job, really underhanded an , plain old bad business, I personally will never pay from them again! Tired of paying to much for shoty work!

My 2006 Equinox is blowing cold air and the Dealership wants 89.00 to check it out. I called corporate and they said they needed to see if I was the cause of the problem before they could fix it. I am freezing here in Atlanta!!!!!!!!!

I had the same problem with my 06, along with a bunch of other problems. I raised cain with GM and they fixed the heater issue by replacing a defective Door valve module actuator. They had to take the dash out etc., now I have all kinds of valve noise and the car isn't running well. They also had to replace a faulty relay switch for my daytime running lights, they have a bullitin out on this. Hope this helps
Hello, was your heater fixed under warranty? I've placed a complaint with GM and got nothing!!! Please help!

Hello Everyone!

I have been trying to deal with GM and all they say is that I am the only one with this heater problem, which is obviously untrue!

I am trying to gather a group of people so that we can petition to get a recall!! I have only 15 people so far and I need more! Please help!

There have been over 400 comments on this forum, if we can everyone on my list I can fight to get GM to fess up and fix their mistake. After all GM put a cheap, faulty, PLASTIC part in our cars to save money!!

my e-mail is amie_beaton1001@hotmail.com

My goal is to help you all out, please help me!

As I stated on a previous comment that everyone go on the national highway and safety website and file complaint there. that is what I did. Hopefully we can get enough people together.

I have an 06 with the same issue and it is brutal this winter. Though we have liked the car, we will NEVER buy another Chevy again.

Just a side note: They did recall the 2010 model for this issue. Please see below!

RECALL: 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

THE SOFTWARE IN THE CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL CAN CAUSE THE HEATING, AIR CONDITIONING, DEFROST, AND RADIO CONTROLS, AS WELL AS THE PANEL ILLUMINATION TO BECOME INOPERATIVE

Grrrr....
