equinox ac problems

My 2005 ac only cools when engine is above 2000 rpm, at idle the suction pressure is high but comes down to normal when I speed up the engine. There is not much cooling at stop lights but at 70 it cools (not as good as I remember) 86000 miles last summer it was acting up but cooled okay

i purchased my 2005 equinox last year and it worked fine but now the ac only cools when my engine is above 2000rmps also. when i come to a stop sign or red light if blows hot. I have a 1 year old and it is too hot down here in south Louisiana to ride around with the ac only half way working. since my car is only 1 year old (since I got it) I think that maybe the dealership should help me out somehow....

I took in to a trusted mechanic and they measured voltage from compressor and at idle its low and then once engine RPMs go up it starts to cool.

Chevy claims it is designed this way to make it last longer. I say BS. Also my equinox sometimes takes 2 or 3 starts to actually start, not fuel pump, not starter, battery, or anything like that. It seems to be a problem with the PCM. Chevy refuses to replace even after contacting corporate.

Biggest pile of junk. And people wonder why I avoid American cars in favor of Japanese?

My 2011 equinox is 2 weeks old. Yesterday, I was 2 hours from home in the heat of the day, and my a/c would not cool at all. I tried turning it on and off, adjusting the temp. About an hour down the road I turned the heat on and left it on a minute then cranked it to low and it started cooling. Not sure what the problem is. Service depts not open on Saturday afternoons!
